觀音山水粉小畫 2019 簡忠威 Chien Chung Wei Watercolor

很多人跟我敲碗要網課、要直播，可我現在的心不在教學"事業"上，沒打算搞。只好挑一些以前上課的影片，簡單剪輯後，免費分享給各位愛水彩的好朋友們，希望你們會喜歡。這集是30分鐘簡忠威老師原汁原味水粉小畫全程示範，在家防疫無聊可以跟著畫畫看。
紙：16開小張灰色紙（我用以前"形趣之境"畫冊扉頁紙的剩料畫的，可以用灰色丹迪紙替代）
筆：平價的大中小號狸毛筆、小隻便宜的尼龍筆。( 畫水粉或類油畫半透明技法，不要用昂貴的進口畫筆去虐待它）
顏料：透明水彩任何廠牌皆可，另外再加幾個粉色：如粉米、粉藍、白色Titanium。

With the respect to the medium and its history, Chien is doing a very easy job here. Which is impressive to the beginners. But such simple and nearly abstract landscapes saturated with colour, literally paint themselves in watercolour, especially on such a small paper size. Real skill of a real master of watercolour medium is shown in larger work (full imperial sheet size) when the medium is nearly impossible to control, and in far more complex subjects. Chien could do that too, well I believe so .. but he often paints small scale work, so it's hard to say.

What brush are you using in this painting?. The green handle. Thank you.

If you slow the video down in a certain spot (and I've done this on other videos of his and found the same thing) you can read the handle: "4 Chirst Art." Stephen Berry, who attended his workshop, wrote on his personal blog that these brushes were purchased in bulk at about $1 per brush; cheap enough to abuse and throw away. I've searched for them and have found the brand on a few Taiwan websites, but have never found the green ones. (The workshop sponsor's email to me said, "any cheap hard brush from a pound shop will do the job. Small and hard I’d say, and flat.") While I appreciated the email, the bristles don't look hard in the videos, but they aren't without any flex either. Flat? They look round to me! But at that small size how much would it matter?
