Can you explain a bit more about the 43%reduction in the transfer case and the location of the inter cooler fan Cheers mate
@timbates4wdadventures4 жыл бұрын
G'day mate, The reduction gears are 42% lower than what i had from standard in my low range gears. Only the low range gearing change, high range stays the same. So, the original low range gearing cluster is removed from the transfer case, and a whole new, larger cogs low range gear cluster is in stalled. To give you an idea. 1st gear low range from standard is equivalent to 2nd gear low range with the reduction gearing cluster going in. 1st gear now is wicked for slow crawling tracks. I hope that answers your question mate. Cheers Tim.

@timbates4wdadventures6 жыл бұрын
Gday mate, no question is a dumb question. Happy to answer any questions. The UHF antenna is for my UHF radio that I have inside my Patrol. The radio is used for convoy communications when away on a trip with other vehicles. Just a way of chatting to each vehicle in the convoy. Hope that helps.

Love your setup mate, very well done and well thought out. Regarding the rear locker, did you find the patrol drives much differently not having the rear lsd when your rear locker is not engaged? Do you find you have to use 4wd more on 'easy' terrain?
@timbates4wdadventures4 жыл бұрын
Jarrod Gday mate, Yeah, without the rear locker engaged, the rear diff is a single wheeler very quickly. So I pretty much lock the rear diff, when I engage 4wd. Thanks for your reply and feedback mate. Cheers Tim.

@Boar-db5sp6 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, I'm living in europe, so I have look a self made solution...the essence of my question if there is safe driving on the highway with a 150kg boat on the roof. I want to take the boat to the roof when I towing my caravan at the max speed 80km/h.

Yeah no worries mate. It would still be worth having a chat with the guys at Tradesman Roofracks about that. Maybe if you send them an email about the question you have.

But you are already at the maximum load capacity already, so its maybe not a good idea to travel at that speed with that much weight on the roof. Would also depend on the vehicle the rack is mounted on as well I would reckon.
