This video of the Guanche rock carvings of Aripe, Guia de Isora, a small but endearing town, where the first Guanche rock carvings found on the island of Tenerife are found, a fairly large main panel with cruciform engravings and human figures.
A rock engraving as an image, as a concept and as a social model, is the tangible culmination of a perception already interpreted from tradition, past experience and thought from memory. It is the main intelligible mechanism of expression of human thought trapped on the reality of the rock, without coordinates that confine it. It is the key to meaning, where the deepest thought of the cultural production of our ancestors is condensed.
