China will never become a powerful football country as long as they don't create love for the game in order to develop talent! In football countries such as brazil, argentina, england and even in Asian countries like Iran and South Korea kids grow up day dreaming about football. They play in the streets, they ditch school to play football, they spend all they have on football shoes, balls and jerseys. There are kids that their lives revolve around football. The coolest thing in these countries is to be good at football. football players get the best girls in school. Stadiums are full of fans. By buying good players and spending money on adult teams the Chinese won't get anywhere. Qatar has been doing it for years and look where they're at! 6 goals in a game, none scored by a chinese player! when was the last time a chinese player scored for this team in the AFC champions league?

Watch the goals one more time. The defense in both teams was a joke! none of these goals would ever happen in front of a Japanese, Iranian, Saudi or a Korean team. SIPG's goalie allowed the ball cross the line 9 times! 9 fucking times! the only time it didn't pass the line was with the help of the pole.

Consider the fact that the Away team had just got 5 consecutive car accident right before match (from videos recorded they are caused by same group of drivers), with a broken AC in their locker room, and got their booked hotels cancelled by "force majeure", you probably won't be surprised by the result. Same thing also happened on Al-Ahli, Kashiwa Reysol and West Sydney Wanderers during their AFC Champions League away game against this team. It's such a shame.

Many people say this game was an fantastic advertisement for Chinese Football. I tend to disagree. This two-legged tie was very enticing, indeed, from the moment that the draw was made. Come on, two games between the two best teams in China? Bring it on! However, it was dramatic, especially the second leg, but without any display of adequate defensive display from both sides. Both teams were poor in their away fixtures -- disorganized, lethargic, and seemingly ill-prepared. Zheng Zhi, though, was probably the only standout domestic player in the second leg -- 37 years old, and still steaming forward in extra-time. Wu Lei's performance, not least the two goals he scored, was encouraging.
