Ah, Man. That's sad to hear. Fights are part of relationships, though. Always suspected Guapo was the tamer of the two of them. Males (most domesticated animals or near-domesticated) seem to be generally tamer around people unless they're hunting or engaged in territorial disputes with their NOT-friends... Dogs (male and female) are weird, though. They generally try to be friends with everyone (unless it's a more dominant female; I saw that with one family dog). Go figure! Hmmm... Hope the two iguanas can be brought back together, or maybe it's time for a separation and Guapo and Lola to find new mates? Not the way you wanted Valentine's Day to go for these two, did ya, Kenan? Guapo seems like such a nice lizard. I gotta admit that guy brings a brighter smile to my face than even Slinky and Pinky!

Baby faced Kenan! It’s horrible when animals get hurt. I’ve had to separate my 2 male dogs due to a dog fight that caused injury. It’s so stressful but I’m glad you got it under control. Feel better Guapo!!!!

I have a pair of Australian Water Dragons. They share an indoor enclosure that is 12×2×4' (l×w×h). I built it so that at any time I can slip in dividers to separate them. So far so good but definitely something that needs to be considered when cohabing.

Yep, you are exactly right. There is always a risk of fighting when cohabitating animals. I had a male and 3 female leopard geckos living in a 55 gallon aquarium and 2 of my females just completely hated each other and would fight violently. I had to come to the conclusion that they were never gonna like each other and would never get along so I had to permanently separate them.

I have two Herman's tortoises that I had to separate. They got along fine when they were babies but now that they get older ( they are 6 years old) they fight each other to the nails. Also we found out that one is a male, the other a female and I don't plan on breeding as I have neither the space nor the time to adequately do that. I love your videos, I have learned so much from them!

Oh yes, I had to do the same with 2 bearded dragon ladies. Molly attacked Susi so that they now are separated in different rooms. When I take them out in the yard in summer (for some hours only because it‘s to cold in Germany most of the time) everything is okay. No fights, no attacks.

My 2 cats who are littermates occasionally get time out. One gal occasionally just flips a switch and becomes almost feral. I know seeing strays in the yard can trigger her, but other times I can't pinpoint the trigger. 1-2 episodes a year, I "lock" one cat upstairs with a large piece of cardboard on the stairs (or occasionally in a bedroom overnight with food, water & a litterbox if the fit persists). Occasionally play fights go a bit far and I'll get them away from each other for a cool down, but play fights gone too far & flipped switch are completely different. I can touch them when play fighting, flipped switch requires large cardboard pieces to encourage her to move where I want her to go without injuring me.
