You get 5 less characters per 250 stones but you get a guaranteed featured ssr. If you do 2 full rotations on the new banner, it comes down to if you want 2 10% chances for the banner unit (10 featured, so only 10% chance is the banner) or 3 full multis + 5 singles (35 chances for a 5% chance for a featured, roughly 1.7 featured on average vs the 2 guaranteed from new banner). If you are lucky, the old style is exponentially better given all the extra summons. The new style gives 2 100% chances for a featured, but the old style gives 30 in multis plus the 2 that the new style makes a feature plus the 3 single pulls, hence the 35 earlier (only 33 more summons total, but have to take into account the 2 100% featured from the new format could be a featured on the old as well for 35 being influenced). On average, the old style would give ~1.7 featured vs the 2 on the new, but also give ~30.3 extra units that could be anything, including a featured. HOWEVER - It does begin to lean more toward the new format the more rotations you do after the first two, though, since the old format begins to cost more stones. The more rotations you do, the more it leans toward the new format. Granted, if you are a player who needs the other featured units, you could argue the new banner is roughly equal initially if you aren't lucky. This is assuming no tickets on the new format.

Depends on how much you summon and how long you've been playing. I'd say this new format is better for newer and f2p players, Its probably worse for older players and spenders since they already have most units on the banner and a guaranteed featured unit really wouldn't be better than just getting more chances to pull the new units.

I for one played for a very long time and on Broly's banner I don't need anything except the new units, i'm not likely to benefit nearly as much from 2 guaranteed featured as a f2p player or new player would because they're almost guaranteed to get something they can either use now or in the future when the unit EZA's, while the same does NOT apply for me. And this is made even worse with Carnival banners that put ancient general pool TUR's up as featured units. Thats why i'm saying i'd rather have more chances to pull the new units then have 2 guaranteed feature units that i'm unlikely to get anything worthwhile out of.

The chance of getting a feature unit is about 60% per multi iirc This means the 3 more multis you get with the old version give you an around 80% chance to get ONE featured unit. So essentially you are looking at either getting 2 guaranteed featured units and three less multis overall or you get the 3 more multis with 80% chance of ONE featured

the way I see it. most banners have a 5% chance that you roll on the featured table. thats the same as needing to roll a nat 20 in dnd just to hope to hit. that means only 1 in 20 of those free multi's even have a chance to roll on the right table. then, for a normal roll, it includes the chaff at the end of the banner too. so only the last roll has a chance to hit a DFSSR. this step up is like the DM saying hey, every 3rd roll you get a free swing, every 6 rolls, your 7th one is a free crit. with the stacked odds Dokkan has, a free crit is very appreciated especially as it'll take 5 lucky crits to actually slay these beasts.

I love statistics, which I have extensively studied in my course. In this case, we need to understand the desired outcome: whether to get characters in general or the main character. I checked the JP banners hoping nothing changes, especially Broly, but nothing changes; it's 10 characters for a 5% chance. So, for one of these, it's 0.5%. Now, to calculate the probability of finding the character, we can simply find the possibility of never finding it. For the first case, the one with the tickets, we have 17 multis + 3 singles.That is, 173 characters. So, 1 - 0.995^(173) equals about a 58% chance of finding a desired character. Let's do the same reasoning for the new ones. We have 14 multis, but of these, 2 characters are taken from a pull of 10 characters. So, we have 138 generic characters + 2 GSSR from the most important pull. The calculation is slightly more complex and is: 1 - (0.995^(138) × 0.90^2), which is almost 59.5%. The probability of finding the new character is definitely better, although only slightly, at the expense of 33 random characters. So, it simply depends on how much someone values 33 random characters, which in statistics are not additional percentages but just an extra number. Therefore, finding the new character is better, but not that much better.

9th anniversary step ups are inflation bait. For the same 160 stones spent, and 5 steps performed, you get 2 single pulls and 1 multi less than normal. New 30/1 40/2 50/3 0/4 *Free* 40/5 Total: 160 DS spent, 5 steps done. Old 30/1 35/2 45/3 0/4 *Free* 50/5 Total: 160DS/5 steps For the GFSSR to be a benefit, you've got to get to step 7. For tickets to be a benefit you have to spend the same amount to get to step 5 with old discounts. I really hope they still give out tickets

I still don't like carnival banners, my issue is that you save up all your coins like red and yellow coins for a while and get close to getting a character and then they implement a new kind of banner and you start at 0 coins of that one which is a horrible feeling to know your starting from scratch then you have to decide well do I want to start summoning on the new one or skip summons on a different one to save coins from another type of coin banner, it really is annoying of them to do

There's a much more simple way to compare these man lol add up the discounts, which are permanent for 400 hours, and calculate how much people save during the 7 steps. 45 stones. So that's essentially another free multi. So it's like we still have a free multi every 3 multis. Except now the 7th step has a featured character. If we lost the tickets, it's a good trade. I went to take a look at the premium tickets from the countdown packs, and they're not labeled as premium. Just Dokkanfest 1 and Summon Carnival 1. I find this to be interesting. They very well could be the "A" and "B" tickets we normally get every Anni, but they couldn't do that this year because they're different labeled banners. I now lean towards the side of we still have tickets every multi. Yes, they're labeled "1" because "2" will be the part 2 banners. But not seeing "Premium" on them makes me think they were just selling the normal ticket packs they sell every anniversary but early.

GSSR is 10x times better for both parties. Fyp and Whales. I hated/like the ticket system as I used to have majority of the units 100% and were missing the main unit but I’ll ended up pulling a 100% unit and I can’t trade them for coins or anything so it was jsut wasted box space so at least with this GSSR if I were to pull a 100% I can trade it for coins in the end im getting something out of it

Might be the first year where I actually skip both part 1 banners. As good as Broly is, he's only good if you have the right super bosses units around him, which I personally don't and now we also have no clue on Cell Max's release either so Broly is even more useless. But more multis means higher chance of getting guaranteed new unit animations. For people that have everything else on the banner, I still think that helps you get the new units more. probably no tickets so global gets used to not having tickets for sync

@janirobe the old system guaranteed you nothing. You have a higher chance of getting Zeno and goku black rift with the new format because it's guaranteed featured. Game only has to decide between 10 units as opposed to over 300

I can't believe people are actually defending. The old format having a guaranteed featured unit is way better than just getting 3 extra summons. Would you rather do 3 free summons on broley?Or would you rather do one free summit on gojita?But you're guaranteed to get a featured lR... The whole game is literally just Gambling and a guaranteed win.D he's one of the best things you can have With the New featured unit with the new system. On the old system, you could do 100 summons and still only have a 2.5%.Chance that you got the new featured unit. Do a 100 summons, and you now have a 18.5% chance that you pulled the new unit because you are getting a guaranteed 1 every 8 summons.
