The numbers indicates how many purple coins are there near the location so it is easier for you to get all the missing purple coins.

honestly i feel as if the standing still part was symbolic there was no sign of that needing to be what you did, meaning those students stuck in there were stuck in there for eternity with no action able to get them out it was so screwed up and I kinda got shivers when it turned out there were four ghosts, five cells, and only one student was left behind as the others "escaped"... i was scared this whole chapter.

i think aaron meant to give the brooch back to pamela (in the 4th cell) but they all died before that could happen. they knew aaron was left there but they had to possess you to be able to press the switch. no clue why they died or why they were punished in the first place, is it a reference to something? 5th cell said aaron was a bit weird, and doyle mentioned singing?? was it already haunted? when was the year 502 AH?

the way to not skip the sub stage by coming back is actually talking to sohee after getting past the ghost. she will ask if you want the device she handed the twins and once you accepted it, go back to the ghosts; the red tracking things will disappear and you only need to fight them.
