The part that hit me the most on first watch was Drax talking to the kids. You think he's gonna say something silly again or upset the kids more but instead reminds you that he was a father once. That underneath all the silliness and stupidity he's still a man who misses his family; but has found that happiness once again.

The first GOTG was my mom’s favorite comic book movie ever, sadly she passed away from cancer complications in 2015 at just 65 years old. What hooked her to the movie at first was the soundtrack of many of the songs she grew up on, but then she loved it so much that she became a fan of the MCU. It’s why this franchise has a very special place in my heart. So when Dog Days Are Over (ANOTHER favorite of mine and my mom’s) was playing and the Guardians were celebrating/moving on with their lives, I was a wreck. Not out of pain of loss, but of remembering the good times I had with my mom. As for the movie itself, it’s one of my top 10 favorite comic book movies ever, as well as an all time favorite. With a supervillain I have never wanted to kill more than The High Evolutionary. And I love that the song that was played to send off the Guardians Of The Galaxy was the first song we as the audience heard when we saw Peter in the opening titles of Vol 1. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go listen to Come And Get Your Love by Redbone!

dude i'm so sorry for your loss. i still have my mom but we live dangerously mentally. anxiety and depression and PTSD really hold us down and my mom talks about suicide all the time. Our lives have really sucked and its really getting to her. i hope it doesn't get too much to her to where she takes her life and i find her body ad i no longer have a mom. so i'm trying my best to enjoy the times we have together because i'm worried for me too but i'm trying to change. but yeah to sum this up i'm sorry for your loss i'm glad you connected with this movie on an emotional level. i did too. i have so many memories attached to all these marvel movies. i have very strong emotional connections to the first guardians movie. we've come a long way and done a lot and lost a lot and cried a lot. but we also laughed a lot danced a lot. smiled a lot. been happy a lot and before. we are here for them. let their memory live in you

This trilogy feels complete to me because of how a typical family would function. The first was about the formation of the family, 2nd is how a typical family would function especially siblings squabbles while the 3rd is when the siblings grow up and move on to their seperate ways and find their own paths. Of course, each movie has their own confined stories and character arcs but each one still portrays how a family function.

Quill's arc was not getting the girl, it was growing up and accepting reality. James Gunn is so good because in pretty silly movies he keeps this emotional core with all his characters. Having them get back together would have been cheap movie logic, not what the character arcs were actually about. She is not the same Gamora and her own person. It would be kinda creepy power fantasy that she always has to fall for Quill and he is "supposed" to have her as his girl. Instead it is that he needs to accept his love died and that she is her own person with her own motivations and not there to serve as a replacement for his loss.

I dont understand the issue jaby has with yondu murdering all those ravagers. Did he forget that they killed yondus men in cold blood? They were literally laughing and mocking them as they sent his men to die in cold space. You even see some of them begging to yondu to save them and hes helplessly sitting there tied up as he cant do anything. To make things worse he has to even witness them all die as all they bloat up and die in space. So yeah him killing them off is well earned and satisfying. Also dont forget they even tortured baby groot so screw those guys.

I really enjoyed Will Poulter's performance as Adam Warlock. Obviously, it differs greatly from the comic book and the video game, but this version was birthed not that long ago, and was removed from his birthing chamber too early as well, so this version accurately portrays what that version of Adam Warlock would be like. No doubt, he will grow and mature with his new friends.

I love Star-Lord in this one. It became his mission to save Rocket the second he got hurt. He definitely felt like the Leader of the group here. I'm also extremely happy that Gamora and Star-Lord didn't go back together. It wasn't needed and would've felt forced, especially the fact that it didn't take Star-Lord a day to make Gamora like him. I know a lot of people hated that but as you said, people move on. She's not the same and that's ok.

I like this version of Adam Warlock better than the comics. I don't know his character super deeply from the comics but he is just always morally righteous, and unbeatable. He has that superman problem. This version, he keeps his Shakespearean-like prose, but he's super naïve. He starts as a bad guy, but doesn't feel right about what he's doing, so he gets to keep his morality. Conflicted by his internal goodness and the badness of the people who raised him. This version is much better than the space Jesus he is in the comics.

@@アキコ2003 "Will" seems very definitive. What are your sources? Who do you know at Marvel Studios? Will the Thing wear blue underpants like he did in the comics? You must know since you're so informed. Being the uninformed worm that I am, I would think that the MCU would continue to adapt marvel characters, as they have been, instead of choosing this particular one to adhere strictly to the comics. And when characters are well received in popular movies, Marvel tends not to mess with them. At least that is what I've noticed from almost every other Guardians of the Galaxy character in the MCU. I could’ve sworn you two went to the theater to see this… Anyway, I really enjoyed this movie but I still prefer 1 over 2, 2 over 3. Each Guardians movie is sadder the the one before it so to me the first Guardians was more pure joy. My favorite part of this movie is Nebula. Her arc (adding in the entire MCU history) is wonderful. When she finds out Rocket is ok and nearly breaks down, it got me. To think how far she’s come in this group and how much she loves them all, especially Rocket, who she was alone with for 5 years during the “Blip”. Jaby, I’m with you, I didn’t love the Beastie Boys during that fight scene either, but that was still the coolest part of the movie.

Hands down three of the best movies out of the entire MCU I don't care what anyone says James Gunn yet again saves another franchise lol and the way they progressively get better each time the 1st the 2nd and the 3rd is exactly what you want to see in a multi movie series. The soundtrack is next level the acting the writing is amazing the premise of the movie is great the comedy is on point the action is there the drama and the sadness everything you need in a movie series. Now out of all the MCU movies I would say these fit in the top 10 MCU movies that leaves only 7 others lol

The scary looking, I mean really good looking creature Mantis let out of the cage that says, "Thaaaank yooouuu," in a very rough voice was James Gunn. Sean Gunn voiced Young Rocket. "Yeah, themses." Linda Cardellini (Laura Barton) voiced Lylla. We finally understand Grootish language. "I love you guys." Officially the first F bomb was Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 when Groot said, "I am Groot" to Yondu. Word for word translation was "Welcome to the fuc---- Guardians of the Galaxy." At least for those of us from Asgard who took Groot as an elective. James Gunn stated that he wanted to show that this Gamora was a different Gamora so it would not take away what happened to her in Avengers: Infinity War. Rocket is the character that James identifies with the most. He always envisioned Rocket as the main character. "The story has been yours all along, and you just didn't know it." Adam Warlock was a himbo, but as was said, he didn't cook long enough. What is great is he has room to grow. Chukwudi (Chuck) Iwuji was a great villain. "Bring me 8 9 P 1 3!" Think back through all the times Rocket was misidentified. I can has added that Tony Stark calling Rocket a Build-A-Bear has new meaning. High evolutionary makes Johann Schmidt look like a a GQ model. Gives real meaning to Quill repeatedly say this is a face off. Cool that your friend Wayne Daglish was stunt co-coordinator. I am also happy to see Heidi Money maker has become stunt coordinator on several films now.

It always annoyed me how Quill keeps trying to get Gamora to "remember who she was".... he doesn't seem to get that THAT Gamora never lived through any of that, she's the Gamora from the past that basically skipped forward with Thanos in End Game. She doesn't have the same experiences the "other" Gamora had, so it makes sense that she would be a totally different person

I'd say my only complaint with this film is (similar with Darren Cross becoming M.O.D.O.K. then trying to redeem himself) Adam Warlock's development/redemption felt rushed; he was set up as this big threat, then he was comic relief, then confused about what he wanted after his mom died, & then he saves Star Lord & joined the Guardians at the end.

It is evident that these individuals have already viewed the content when it was initially released and had the privilege of watching it before others. Their reactions are not authentic, and there is a possibility of them being insincere. They are likely only watching it because they do not have much else to offer as a reaction for the benefit of U.S viewers.

I got that feeling as well...also, because it's the "it" movie to do a viewing/reaction right now. 🤷🏼‍♂️

They were in India to shoot Achara's movie and hence decided to skip both this and John Wick. Don't be such a pompous ass.
