Guatemala. EP5. Discovering the Semuc Champey waterfalls in the center of the country.

Semuc Champey is one of Guatemala's most impressive natural attractions
We arrived in Lanquín, a region in the center of the country that has enchanting natural and cultural beauty. If you want to visit the Semuc Champey waterfalls, you should go to the city of Lanquín and from there, take local transport to the park. We paid 25 quetzales for the journey (around $3,20, 2024 price). Another possibility is to stay in one of the accommodations around the park and, in the same way, you need to get to the city of Lanquín and from there take local transport to your accommodation. We had both experiences and what changed was just the location of the accommodations, as most of them are surrounded by nature. We paid 50 ($6,50) quetzales at the entrance to the park and we recommend staying until it closes (around 5pm), as that is when the sun starts to set behind the mountains.
