This bag is LOVELY!🥰 interestingly enough, when I went to try it on in the store, I really loved the croc embossed design more than the smooth leather. Both are gorgeous..I was just surprised to really like the croc embossed bag as much as I did! Definitely thinking about pulling the trigger now🥰

@@Breonaleonard I was just at the ysl at aria in Las Vegas and I saw that one too! They didn't have the smooth black leather but the agent is having it shipped from another store for me to see all 4 colors in person so can decide.

Ugh this bag is gorgeous. How has the smooth leather been holding up? Is it easily prone to scratches? I'm torn between this and the croc :'(

It is great! I use the bag for nights out and some day trips. I have a nylon Prada shoulder re-edition, that I stuff into my larger tote and pull it out for errands. That nylon bag takes a beating! If you take decent care of this YSL soft leather then you should be fine😉 if you are worried about it then do croc!

I actually got the same problem on gucci jackie bag. It’s prefect on crossbody but not shoulder bag. Now i’m waiting on my ysl. ;)

Such a great question. I feel like no. So the “L” has such a solid clasp once hooked that there is no chance of it coming undone. The way the bag is designed it is open so you can reach in and basically get what you need without having to unclasp it. IF you constantly left the L open it would probably scratch the bag but I wouldn’t recommend that vibe. We can leave that trend for the Birkins 🤣

How would you compare the YSL hobo to Prada's cleo ? Which one would you choose? Thank you

Thank you so much for the comment! So for me personally, Prada is having a color issue. Whenever I go into the store the colors don’t wow me and they do not compliment my skin tone/outfits. Same with the Cleo bag. There bag is like a nude vs rich caramel you are seeing in the other houses. I have the Prada limited edition 2005 in red and LOVE it! I wish the brand would move out of pastels into more classic normal colors☺️ BUT if these colors work on you then give it a try for sure!! It is a stunning bag with that slope 🤤Let me know about the double extensions on the strap. They seem fussy but versatile. That bag is gorgeous💛

Hi Brooke, thank you for your review. I bought this bag in white for my wife from the official YSL website and I noticed the YSL hardware logo is quite faded (not as shiny as I expected and looks like there's white marks on it like a bad car wash). From your experience, is this normal for a YSL bag, and what you have on your hobo bag? Any insight is appreciated, thanks!

That should absolutely not be happening on a brand new bag! The YSL bags are known for some hardware issues because they always have large logos on the bags and easy to bang around but that should leave dents not defective white marks. I would contact them and see if you can get it fixed or replace the bag. Good luck!

Longevity wise do you think the croco embossed leather is more durable or this one?

Mmmm? Well I haven’t actually touched the croc leather one but normally that leather tends to be more scratch resistant. For me personally why I wanted the smoother leather was because I don’t dress in a ton of pattern more texture. My fall wardrobe is heavy and textured so I love the juxtaposition of this smooth leather. Hope that helps 😘

It does depend on the jacket material but for the most part it stays up. I know what you mean though. Not fun when you carry it on your arm alllll day!
