Byredo ‘Unnamed’ is actually identical IMO. GPH2 was my go to for years and the byredo is literally a carbon copy!

I was going to recommend Unnamed mainly for the Violet Leaf but Unnamed does go on the sweeter Gypsy Water side especially in the dry down.

I've heard that HiM by Hanae Mori shares a close resemblance to GPH2. I've never smelled the Gucci, but own both HM and HiM. HiM has what I can only refer to as a "Lay's dill pickle chip" accord off the atomizer, and that's not even a bad thing. Great vid!

I find Londinium from Molton Brown to be a nice cozy alternative. That one is more about sweet berries rather than violet leaves, but the drydown does have a nice musty myrrh vibe. One of the most beautiful bottles in my collection too. Shame it only came in a 50 mL. And just like GPHII, sadly discontinued.

Found Hommage a L'Homme at a discounter here 2 months ago. Smelt great and potent for a EDT. Using it sparingly as I can't find it in malls and other discounter stores. Picked up the discontinued Van Cleefs & Arpels Pour Homme as well and it smells great!

Been hoping to find something similar to this myself since my bottle I got back in like 2008 or 09 is a few sprays from being empty. Haven’t smelled anything like it since. Even the liquid in your bottle from the reformulation looks way more purple. I’ll definitely miss it. 😩

I'm glad to see you included what's quite definitely the closest and best GPHII impersonator out there (that I've smelled) - Opus 1870. What a sleeper, doesn't get nearly as much press as it should. I own both perfumes and would be hard pressed to tell the difference blindfolded sometimes, minus the opening vegetal note in the Gucci. Either way, both masterpieces and both quite similar to one another in both composition and feel/vibe

In 2023 and still , people are sooo mad about GPH-II discontinuing! A lot of people still search 🔍 online and the few ones charge sooo much for it :(. Brutal . This was the best scents for men not too strong but refreshing all in one .
