@@notyourusualdadbod The Artist's intent to what you saw on the runway is supposed communicate individualism and identity. Whether it be looks, preferences (i.e. gremlins), or personalities everyone has their own identity. They brought it further home to showing the twins with identical clothes. Since you saw the mix of the previous models, it leads you to identify that even though the twins may look identical and dress the same way, they still have their own individual qualities that makes them unique despite appearances.

So moving, you could feel most of the twins energetic attachment - so emotional when they released hands or glanced. It added a level of intensity to the clothes, emphasizing that no 2 of us are identical.

I am stunned. This is spectacular, inspirational, breathtaking. What an amazing idea. What a wonderful show. As a person who is not interested in fashion a lot but love movies, etc, this is one of the best things that I’ve ever seen. I will never forget this for sure.

Thought Provoking, Visually Hypnotic, Perfectly Executed……. The symmetry of this presentation truly added to Michele’s ‘Power Clash’ Aesthetic! Remarkably Calming and Exhilarating At Once…… His Best Show to date! If I had to use two words to describe this Gucci Collection, they would be “ODDLY ELEGANT”. Bravo!

Watching how each pair subtly interacted with each other was one of my favourite things in this show honestly - though it did I mean I stopped paying attention to the collection itself. I was intrigued by how some of their hands lingered, outstretched for their siblings as they parted and some didn't. And wow, the style of how each individual model walks was suddenly emphasised further when paired up, because they instinctively seem to echo each other's gait.

That has a lot more to do with the consumer than the actual RTW. Alessandro has been bringing this energy, it was/is just basic people buying low price Gucci for nothing but the logo.

Loved watching this show on livestream, lots of 80's archived pieces and silhouettes making a strong come back. This felt more like performance art than a fashion show, and is quite laid back considering Alessandro's past work. My main question is, why the edition of the Mogwai/Gremlins? Is it the theme of twins and how mogwai can duplicate?

The clothes? Sure. Lovely. I really loved some of the blazers/jackets (there must have been dozens of different variations, all wearable) and the accessories are going to be EVERYWHERE. I've never really minded Alessandro's oddball interpretation and presentation...it makes an impact, which is why he does it. I've always been disappointed in the low wearability quotient of his collections. When the individual garments are so bonkers that only the quirkiest rich kid is going to be interested, I lose my sense of connection to the fashion. Gucci seems to be getting better at offering his unique tastes in artistic interpretation of beautiful clothing. Its a fine balance, but this show really showed promise in the right direction. He still speaks to a niche audience, of which I'm not a member, but I can appreciate his point of view from afar.

The gold "G" belt buckle seen on some of the suits like 9:00 and 11:03 was first used in the Gucci FW 1996 collection under Tom Ford. And the g-strings peeking above the waist at 10:54 and 11:10 was first seen around SS 1997, also by Tom ford. This collection by Alessandro Michele was cleaner and slightly more refined than previous seasons. There were fewer accessories and less "dork chic." The quirkiness is toned down a bit. I liked the blue "Gizmo" dresses at 15:41. Alessandro keeps his quirky tongue-in-cheek spirit, but it looks more mature this time. Bravo!

This is definitely a nod to Tom Ford's last three collections, (and touches of Frida Gianini here and there!) an Homage if I say so myself! The Chaps were a dead giveaway, the low-rise (midriff) trousers, and skirts, showing the belted sides, and even that exaggerated 'G' belt, from Tom Ford's Halston inspired collection; with hints of far Eastern influences; honestly the list goes on, secret admirer no more Michele!! The show was very cleverly orchestrated, showing Michele full of theatre and drama, even 'The Shining' came through!! His education in costume and design is vehemently on show here!! Great job Chappie!
