Good example... however.. I've seen that upon launching the delay, there is a change of hands.. this happens when the dsmb is already inflated. This must be avoided. Whilst the diver blows into the valve for filling the dsmb, the finger of the same hand should already be in the spool ready for launching and not changing hands at the very end. Doing so could put you at risk of catching the hand/fingers on the line and sending you straight up and risking a bend etc. Also.. for operational purposes, it allows the other hand to use other equipment. Keep it simple.

Couldn't see much of anything...and the DSMB should be connected to the spool before the dive; making one less step to do during deployment.

I think for training and demonstration this is fine. For open water diving, I agree that the DSMB should always be connected to the spool. However, think about using the same spool as a guideline for a shipwreck penetrating dive, it won't be attached to the DSMB.
