I’m surprised to hear you describe this as a quiet, gentle fragrance. I tend to do 2-3 sprays and it is always noticed by others, lasting all day. I do agree that the *quality* of the fragrance is soft and considerate, but with my bottle anyway, a little goes a long way. Persistent, this one. Angelique Noire is one of my favorites, although for me this was love at first sniff. Bought a full bottle on the spot. As always, thank you for your thoughtful, poetic assessment.

Nice! We have the same SOTD today, I was craving Mitsouko for some time, now I'll wear it all week, that always happens with this perfume. Love Angelique Noire, probably my fav from the line with Bois d'Armenie and Double Vanille. But Angelique Noir takes the cake all day, it wears like a GUERLAIN! Nothing wears like Guerlain! Cheers!

Cheers Rams. Great review for sure I would appreciate this as it is a soft spoken fragrance especially when Rose is involved. But done with a deft hand I’m down with that . Have a terrific day fella . 🤛👊💪

Beautiful review, as always. On the subject of Angelique, I had a sample of it and did appreciate its beauty and quiet moody feel, but I wouldn't wear it. There was something drilling, too persistent about it. I think it's the Angelica note itself. I may revisit it later.

Love this one and enjoyed the review! I know what you mean by everything being very carefully dosed. I remember thinking that specifically about both this and Neroli Outrenoir out of the ones from this line I've tried. The contrast and balance seems to emerge from the different elements being built up to just the right levels (done so so deftly here), unlike heavier, beast modey, type frags where it feels more like balance is achieved (or not) by the elements being set against each other to give a sort of tense standoff through mutual aggression (which can also be enjoyable!). This and Neroli Outrenoir will both find their way onto my shelf if Guerlain ever decides to actually ship new stock of this line to their Australian distributor 🤣

I am looking for some place where I can buy single note/ single accord samples of the - say - 40-50 most common scents in perfumery. I noticed Les Indemodables has the Grands Crux, are you aware of anyone else that sells authentic, industry quality note samples? Thanks Ramsey...you are fantastic at what you do!

This is a scent I love to smell but not to wear. I find it to be gorgeous in its construction but it just leans too feminine for me, and I’m fine wearing some feminine targeted scents. Just not this one. 😢
