These Bedford OBs must surely be some of the most beautiful buses/coaches ever made. They are simply stunning! I'm so glad that a great many of them have been saved and preserved. British heritage at its absolute best!

I used to drive a Bedford OB in 1956 for Paul’s Tours of Ryde, IOW. That was a real ‘fun’ job. Would love to find a reconditioned OB of that era for sale. I would buy it immediately & have it shipped to my home in British Columbia, Canada it would sure be a show stopper at some of the vintage vehicle rallies.

When I started high School in 1962, we had a Bedford OB as a back-up school bus for when our regular SB bus was being serviced. Then, when I was in the Army in 1972 I was given the job of driving a Bedford OL Tanker from Hobsonville, in Auckland, to Whakatane to provide fuel for an exercise that we were doing, using Iriquois and Sioux helicopters. We also took a nearly new Ford D500 Tanker with us, one tanker hauling Avgas for the Sioux and the other hauling Avtur for the Iriquois. All day trip. No problems with the Bedford, but the nearly new Ford, only 900 miles on the clock, broke down half-way! Crap Lucas electrics! Love Bedfords.

Brings back memories, we used to go to Reighton Gap for holidays and the bus to take you from the main road to the camp was a Bedford Duple driven by Mr Ellwell, 6d was the fare and he always had a pocket full of money, good memories for what you could get for 2 and a half pence.

There used to be an immaculate Bedford OB parked in Helston, Cornwall many years ago. It would be lovely to see a video of the interior of this coach.
