In the documentary Residente, René travels for two years around the world creating music, following the path marked by his DNA and that of his ancestors. In that trip he creates his first solo album "Residente", "Guerra" is one of his songs, another of the songs that you will like is "Dagombas en Tamale"!!

Residente's DNA reveals that he had heritage in Caucasus. So he went here and he learned about their culture and their tragedies and these people in the videos are the people and music is of Caucuses and then he went to China because he also had DNA there. Residente is a spokesperson for UNICEF and Amnesty International and it's just an all-around good guy.

💜💜 To put you in context, René took a DNA test and according to the results of his test he made music with each artist where his DNA comes from. It's a documentary called Resident in Netflix. The women in the choir are Syrian women singing war songs. There is also music with women from Africa (the music is called Dagombas con tamale, I adore that song ... it's very energizing), with Chinese artists, with Americans and Europeans. René's DNA test turned out that her ancestors came from almost every continent.

Something that I forgot to mention is that the voices of the women singing are widowed women from Ossetia (southern Russia). The voices of this Christian-like choir were recorded in a small church devastated by the armed conflict. René had the opportunity to work with the Russian Symphony Orchestra (one of the largest in Europe). But he decided to tell a war story from the perspective of the losers, so he rejected and used the local voices of these Ossetian women. It is more personal.
