I love thissssss. I'm a Proud Malay, I went to Tanjong Katong Girls (and very proud of my school), which only had Express stream. I had a few Malay friends who went to JC in sec 3 through the integrated programme. However, during poly, I had plenty of Malay friends who were from NA/NT whose GPAs were way better than mine. Your PSLE score don't matter, your stream don't matter, your Os and Ns don't matter. It's your beliefs in yourself and how far you see yourself in life and how you persevere that brings you far in life. Don't be disheartened by where you stand now, always believe in yourself and do your best in everything. Your path may be longer than others, but what awaits you at the end of your journey will be fruitful😊❤️

Glad you have positive mindset and acknowledging that life is more than just a piece of paper that shows your aggregate score/grades.Sadly,in this country of total pragmatism, people WILL look down on those who did badly/goto a bad school(especially thr malay community).I went to a local neighbourhood secondary sch in Pasir Ris.I went to express.I got into JC(decent). This year is Alevels(I have 1 more paper left).I have friends from all kinds of background-NA/NT-ITE-POLY. You name it.I got it.I hope more will realise that education is just one aspect in life you have to achieve.Your practical and communication skills DO matter!I would like to give a clear example of my sis-she went to TP-Business Analytics. She graduated from SIM(private). Are you expecting shes gonna work for some small company?Well.Guess what, she's in standard chartered bank working as a data analyst earning big per month. What got her the job? Her personality and thinking skills. She didnt like studying(her GPA was bad) but she got a stable job and her passion there.I hope more malays will continue pursue their passion despite prejudices of being bodoh and malas.Sorry if I typed too long, just felt like sharing my thoughts on this as well! Thanks for reading!

I was from Madrasah too, back during my time, about 8 years ago, regardless of our psle results everyone is promoted to secondary level and everyone studies express/special subjects and we all used the same textbooks for maths and science. And due to limited teacher we only have pure geography for our humanities. Just sharing :) and CNA should interview madrasah students too! :) I believe madrasah students are doing well too, with juggling 17 different subjects and have strong memorisation skills (for Quranic studies) :)

I'm a proud Malay who grew up and studied in Serangoon Garden. I went to primary and secondary schools there. And in Express stream for all of 4 years in secondary school in 1991. Incidentally, I had several other Malay schoolmates in express too. I happened to love geography, history and math subjects. I took badminton and drama for my ECA. Growing up had also been spent on private piano lessons for more than 10 years, accredited by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. Following that, I continued overseas right through to university where I studied business. Both my father's and my personal individual income had been above Singapore's per capita income all these years. Some of my (Malay) relatives are a part of Singapore's fabric in politics, the arts and Malay pioneer in the AG office from donkey decades ago. Any questions? Why CNA never call me? Even after 30 years, there are no Malays in Express? Whose standard is it anyway that being in math or finance is good? That making epok-epok is not?

Its really pathetic that here in singapore people still do play the race cards and i am even ashamed of my own race encouraging their kids to ONLY mix with non-malays as they think that Malays are a 'LAZY' race to the extent they dont even know how to speak the Malay Language. This is the kind of poor upbringing of our kids. So many racial inequalities happening here in Singapore. U just need to be a minority here in SG to understand and feel whats its like. Hopefully the ministers are done talking behind closed doors about tudung issue. Hello its 2021 are u guys done talking up there? Regardless of race language or religion? Are u for real PAP?
