The Great Seal of the United States
The obverse features a bald eagle holding a scroll in its beak inscribed with "E Pluribus Unum" (Out of Many, One). The eagle clutches an olive branch in one talon and arrows in the other, symbolizing peace and war, respectively. A shield with 13 stripes covers the eagle’s chest, representing the original 13 colonies.
The flag features two vertical red bands on either side of a white square, with a stylized 11-pointed red maple leaf in the center. The maple leaf has long been a symbol of Canada and its nature.
The coat of arms features a shield divided into four quarters representing England, Scotland, and Ireland. The shield is supported by a lion (England) and a unicorn (Scotland). The motto "Dieu et mon droit" (God and my right) appears below the shield, and the Order of the Garter surrounds it.
The Chrysanthemum Seal is an emblem featuring a stylized 16-petaled chrysanthemum flower, with another 16-petaled layer behind it. It represents the Japanese Imperial Family.
The Federal Eagle is a stylized black eagle with red beak, tongue, and talons. The eagle has been a symbol of German states since the Holy Roman Empire.
