As a Canadian I can say with almost 100% certainty that IF using more than 25 pennies in a single transaction was banned nobody actually knew this. Also we don't use ANY pennies bcz they aren't a circulating currency anymore and haven't been for a very long time, a nickel is the smallest coin denomination.

Canadian here, we stopped using pennies at all in 2013. We did not gradually phase out the use of all coins, I have no idea where you got that from, but it's not true. We literally got rid of our 1 and 2 dollar bills decades ago and replaced them both with coins. We got rid of the penny as a cost cutting measure because they cost more to make than they are worth.

We don’t use pennies anymore in Canada and it’s been a while since we don’t use them. Cost too much to make. The date official of them being gone was February 4 2013. In the law they said you can use up to 25 pennies, 100 nickels, 100 dimes, 40 quarters, 25 loonies, and 20 toonies in a single transaction. I heard about that law before but it is kind of ridiculous and nobody really said no to someone if he had more. It was more about the time and respect for the cashier. That law is not about the pennies tho. They also said if you go to a store they can also refuse to take pennies and 100$ bill. I saw some people refuse a 100$ bill still to this day because most people pay by card so sometime they don’t have enough cash. Well that’s an interesting video thank you. :)
@afrarehman7603 күн бұрын
Yeah same here. I always tell people whoever wants to visit Canada make sure you have a card on Apple Pay as most people don’t carry change or have cash…unless you’re going to big box stores like Walmart or Costco you will find enough change for a $100 bill. But in other stores they don’t have change. I remember in H&M the lady didn’t have a $50 change for me so she went to the other store and got me the change 😅🙈 I didn’t want to use my card but I felt bad after 😔 I just needed some change 😭😭

If you wanna be baptized in the danish church the name has to be on the list of baby names or you can file a request with the church to get permission to use the name in their church. There are several gender neutral names on the list. My name was not on the list 30 years ago, so my parents filed to get permission, now my name is very normal here.
