Some of them were quite predictable, I knew that North Dakota would be Fargo, that Iowa would be Field of Dreams, and Alabama would be Forrest Gump. Some though were tougher to guess. As for New York and California, there are so many movies in those 2 places that hundreds of movies would have worked just as well to match those 2 states in this video. Some of the answers in this video though, they could've found a better match. I can't believe that Kansas couldn't come up with anything better than Wizard of Oz

Outside of a couple of scenes, Fargo takes place in Minnesota.

There are several films where multiple states are involved, although the amount of time spent in the state should count a lot. Close Encounters starts in Indiana, with a short 'side trip' into Ohio (while chasing a UFO), and ends in Wyoming. The screen time for Indiana and Wyoming settings is fairly even, and evenly important.

That's the wrong Stepford Wives, 2004, not 1975, though they are both set in CT. Also, Fight Club was filmed in Delaware, but not set in Delaware, in fact intentionally not set in any particular city or state. Granted, Delaware is slim pickin's, but Dead Poets Society would have worked. Also, The Good, The Bad and the Ugly was set during the civil war, but there was no New Mexico until 60 years later. I like the back to back stills of De Niro in movie theaters. That was a nice touch. You know there are 51 questions on this quiz with your inclusion of D.C., right? Yeah, I'm that guy today. I got 48.

To expand on your point about The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, it wasn't even filmed in the US, it was filmed in Spain. The third film in Sergio Leone's "Spaghetti Western" classic "Man with No Name" trilogy starring Clint Eastwood.

"Set in" is NOT the same as "Filmed in". Dances with Wolves is SET IN Kansas. John Dunbar is dispatched from Fort Hays - which is in Kansas (I've been there). Shawshank Redemption was set in Maine, but filmed in Ohio. You also have a bit of an issue when a film is set in multiple states for a significant portion of the screen time - Close Encounters of the Third Kind begins in Indiana, and then later moves to Wyoming for the conclusion. How about a couple more tries at the quiz, one for a proper 'Set in' and another for 'Filmed in'?

At least you didn't use Brokeback Mountain for Wyoming. Close Encounters of the Third Kind ended there, but it was mainly set in Indiana. The Hateful Eight was also set in Wyoming (but filmed in Colorado).

"Filmed in" is not the same as "Set in". A Christmas Story is indeed set in Indiana, although none of it was apparently filmed in Indiana.
