I love where I'm at in the hobby. I opened an indoor crawler park and have gained the support of the scale rc community. That, in turn has allowed me to start carrying rc products and also allowed me to expand on my own line of 3d printed parts and accessories.

I used to want to be a big deal in the hobby with lots of followers. I realized my talent for videos went out the door pretty quickly and decided to do what made me happy. Some followed, some do not, and it’s all okay. RC is 95% a stress reliever for me anyway.

There’s always room for improvement in any hobby or skills. For me I definitely want to get into doing styrene, 3D printing, making molds, and custom fabricating with all materials including metals. Definitely a dream for me to make my own parts and maybe even my own rc kits that I can sell to share with the world. Right now it’s just finances that’s slowing me down. I’ll get there one day tho, once I get out of this rut that I’m in with work.

Great question! I struggle to find ppl to rc with and going alone is not always as fun. I have also struggled letting ppl drive my cars to try to get them into the hobby: I end up having to fix that car almost every time. I am starting to think crawlers are not good for entry level.

$199.99 for the spoked wheels is my guess. Pricey, but they look so good! My place in the hobby? Right now I want more buggies. Buggies from Associated, Kyosho and Tamiya. Also, I want more drift cars. I bought a Traxxas 4-Tec Drift and it gave me the drifting bug.

Unrealistic goal is to open an indoor crawling course here in KC and adding a dedicated crawler shop. Money is the big issue on that one. lol i have all the time to do it.

I feel at a peak right now. I want to grow my KZbin, but be more useful for others, other than just having fun creating videos, but keep that enjoyable mindset. So, looking to fabricate, and design more. Plus develop more connections. Creating a different approach to Moosejawbs. with a more effective time management idea to do so. More selective what I take on. Plus in person painting at events... minus the fumes, somehow.

Been in this hobby a good number of years, really wanted to make a living at it, but traditionally, I couldn't even get a job in a hobby shop, lol. Used to run with a lot of guys that now work for Vanquish, RPP, Amain, Proline, etc. Started my own YT channel, but to be honest, I just try to keep it fun- because I tend to suck at marketing. Right now my goal is to learn Autocad, etc. and try to make my own stuff, but painting is my strength. But it is always cool to see the events come back after the shutdown a couple of years ago

I went to school for metal fabrication but don’t do any metal fab for RC every time I think about getting set up for that a new release comes out and I spend my money lol Moving forward, I would like to start making bumpers and sliders for my builds and then move into full chassis builds I’m gonna grab the tubing bender from send cut send that you just made and get a tig. I also need to dedicate some time to a painting booth setup I love to paint but need to figure out a better place for it.

I have always wanted a wildly inexpensive radio with a bunch of meows. As far as the hobby goes, I'm not where I want to be at all. My biggest hurdle is space. I don't have a garage or shop to set up so I'm limited to what I can do in the house or at a buddies garage. Having hobby ADHD doesn't help... I split my time between work, RC, model building, golf, riding/working on my motorcycle... I manage to sneak eating and sleeping in there when I can lol.

Unfortunately, no, I'm not "where I want to be" in the RC hobby. I'd luv to have more time for building & running RCs, as well as more time for filming/editing videos for my KZbin channel, but there are a couple 'problems' (for the first one, I say this in a good/positive way) preventing this. The first is the complete unpredictability of my work schedule. In my line of work (tour/charter bus driver), my schedule changes on a daily basis...sometimes, in the middle of the work day. Some days I'll work 3 hours, and other days I'll work 16 hours. On days where I have 2 separate runs, sometimes there's 8 hours between, and other times there less than 2 hours between. During super-slow times, I might work 1-2 days in a week...and, at other times, I might be working as many as 21 days straight. While taking a vehicle/boat with me could, potentially, be a possibility, it's not a realistic possibility, as I don't always know where, exactly, I'll be. The second 'problem' is the weather. For most people, summer is when they can get the most runtime in...but, living in Las Vegas, and dealing with several months of non-stop 100+ degree temps, just being outside is problematic. Running any RCs in this heat could cause severe damage, including the possibility of a Lipo fire, and I'm not willing to take that chance. Some people "aren't where they want to be" due to things such as family matters, financial problems and/or circumstances they've chosen to put themselves in, and I respect those reasons. In my case, one (the weather) is completely beyond my control, and the other (job anti-schedule) is one I have incredibly little control over...at least, for now. Hopefully, in the not-to-distant future, as I move up the 'seniority' list, I'll have more control over my job assignments, which, in-turn, will hopefully allow me more time to put into RC. Positive thinking is what I am certain will, at some point, get me "where I want to be" in RC.

While I am happy about where I am at now in the Hobby, I think I haven't yet made my Magnum Opus. Between eventually freeing myself of the nonsensical tedium of traditional off road racing, keeping up with and expanding into drifting, crawling, and the parade of crazy cool stuff coming out every few months these days, I've come a million miles and I think I have a million more left in me. I've gotten better as a wheelman and mechanic and that's great, but by my 40's I think its time to dial back racing on a mostly weekly basis and start a "running collection" of vehicles that run whenever I feel like it and maybe occasionally returning to the track.

Went a little too hard when I first got in the hobby and built 20 some trucks so I'm kinda in a holding pattern until I pay off what I've built. When I can get back at it I would like to replace some of the styles of truck that I have multiples of with just one really nice build for say trailing or crawling and a backup in case it breaks that's just as nice

Welder by trade from the railroad industry to red steel building but tig is the one that I haven’t ever tried. The right machine has alway been a question. One of the issues with brakeline benders is the radius of the bend is pretty large. Not very scale in comparison to a full size buggy. If you use a brakeline bender there id a good probability the parts wont fit the jig. I had to build my own bender to get the radiuses I wanted for my truggy.

@@NBC_NCO I've been a steel fabricator gor about 40 years. I know a bunch of different methods. Sand is ok, but your going to want a pretty fine grain to pack in tight in a brakeline. But stacking a few washers and bolting them together with a swing arm that slides over it is pretty easy to put together. I didn't use any 3D printer for mine.

I'm not where I want to be. I've actually shifted focus and working on more full size projects. I'll come back, but for now I'll sell off what I have and revisit later. I'll still watch SNU though.

Well i need a 3d printer, i need to learn how to weld and get a setup, i need time and space to dedicate to it, but i want to build a jimmy’s buggy, but I barely have time to run the new builds i already have. So yeah, I’m not in the position to advance in the hobby the way i want to. I have too many hobbies and obligations, hell I don’t even have kids, i have no idea how those people do it. Maybe i need a life manager, hahaha! Always 🤙🏼
