To be fair, Lance Storm's "If I can be serious for a moment..." was freaking gold. I LOVED that multi-title run of his.

+Glenn Dallas YES...FINALLY I hear Truth about Sir Lance!!...LOL......If I myself could be serious for a moment, I ALWAYS thought Lance Storm was a great worker and judging from other wrestlers opinions of him in their respective autobiographies it's quite clear Storm was and always will be one of the good guys in the squared circle and in the back locker rooms! Cheers Glenn

As some comedy midcard angles, some of these ideas really wouldn't be half bad. Sure... Bill Ding wouldn't be world champ & the Jew Tang Clan wouldn't be legends on the level of LOD, but it would sure as hell have been interesting to watch.
@BigBlack818 жыл бұрын
+TheShadowBrigade And that's what I think a lot of these keyboard marks are missing. If wrestling shares most, if not nearly all of it's roots to theatre, whether the fans like it or not, comedy can be a great buffer between the opening matches where the greats of tomorrow make their debut and the main event you paid to see. The key is, most people don't have the humility anymore to 'know their role' and do it. Some wrestlers never SHOULD have been tracked to be belt holders because that's not where they were best served. And vice versa, some wrestlers should NEVER try to do comedy. EVER. Disco could have been one of the best promoters ever in a promotion that wants to have FUN.
@TheShadowBrigade8 жыл бұрын
+BigBlack81 Exactly. Chikara or pwg would be a perfect fit for him.

And by the way, it's booking "committee". Not booker, by himself. I'd pair him with someone who understood how to create tension and release on a card through booking (Someone like Ricky Steamboat comes to mind, matter of fact.) and was a little more serious about the dramatic side of wrestling and let them two of them go towards the goal of a total package. Humor, drama, blood, sweat, tears AND laughs. Why can't you have it all on a card? THOSE are the shows, those are the ECW shows I remember the most. Disco might have been ahead of his time but not paired with the right anchoring balance as a booker.
