Please remember even your child is an individual different from you, with thoughts and dreams of their own. If I ever saw anyone making fun of a disabled person I think I could straight up punch them if it came to it or at least ask them, very loudly what in the world do they think they are doing. My younger sister is disabled though not as severely as the brother in the first story but I've been very protective of my sister since she was born, even more so when I found out she was disabled. In turn this has made me extremely sensitive to any kind of abuse or ignorance towards other disabled people. To think grown adults have the audacity to say that the girl will never be able to get married because of her brother and some other out right laughing at him is barbaric.

Expectations are really a burden. It can be a source of motivation or a source of pressure not just from your family but also teachers, friends and fellow students...which I can totally relate to...This is the reason why I wanted to pursue college away from home where no one knows anything about me but...yeah..after first year, I think they begun having high expectations of me again because of my performance which I don't really see as something good since it pressures me a lot....

Formal education is not for everyone. I was always a top student. Only got distinctions even in subjects I hated. But if I had the option to go back in time and drop out, I would. I learnt a lot in school, I was good at it but I think I would have better spent my time outside formal education. That is how I plan on raising my kids if I have them - with little to no formal education.

Watching this, (the first concern) reminds me of the mail sender in Sakunoki who have almost similar problem with school...the child's parent wants him/her to pursue studying because they believe it ensures a bright future but the child is not passionate about studying and wants to pursue other things..other path...but Minju here is actually passionate of studying, she just wants to take the short route...which I think also have its pros and cons....
