궁중 헌상용 병풍으로 19세기 말~20세기 초에 활동한 평안도 출신 화가 양기훈의 그림을 바탕으로 제작되었다. 병풍의 자수는 평안도 지역 자수인 안주수의 특징을 보인다. 조선 말~대한제국 시기 지역의 장인들이 제작한 자수 물품이 조직적으로 생산, 전국에 유통되면서 궁중에도 유입되었던 양상을 보여준다
This fording screen created as tribute for the Korean imperial court was modeled on a painting by Yang Gi-hun, an artist born in Pyongan-do Province(in present-day North Korea) who was active in the late nineteenth through early twentieth centruies. The embroidery on the screen does not appear to be the work of Koreaan court women, but rather reflects the characteristics of anjusu, the embroidery style of the Pyongan-do region. From the late Joseon Dynasty through the Korean Empire period, embroidered goods crafted by local artisans were systematically produced and distributed throughout the nation and eventually introduced to the royal court. This artifact demonstrates this development.
