Guide Dogs: Partners with the Blind

At Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB) if a dog doesn't pass it's guide dog test they donate the dog to organizations that train service dogs for war veterans with PTSD. I got my guide dog Huckleberry at GDB about 8 months ago and he has changed my life.

I feel so sorry for guide dogs :( !

Why? Is it because they look sad or bored? Because they are neither, they are focused on their job( guiding the human and ignoring obnoxious and ignorant people) my own service dog is allowed to go everywhere with me everyday. We will work for a few hours( which mainly consists of going on errands and then well head to the park or head home for a while to nap and well go back out again in the evening) if she was simply an untrained pet she would simply lay around all day, alone, holding her bladder and waiting for my return anxiously. These dogs love what their trained to do, if they dont we dont use them. An actual sad or depressed working dog cant do its job and would be retired to be a pet.
