Handcrossbow has become my absolute go-to secondary weapon if I want utility. It is so good. Poison bolts have helped me so many times to surprise others.

Man, you're a hard working dude Mike especially during drop week :o I'm starting to understand that the principle is almost as important as the specifics in this game. Like, I just solo-outplayed a duo that should have had me cold but I heard a horse whinny, got my ordinance out early for damage and confusion, then Spectered one back to the lobby. Then the long engagement where I just needed to wing the surviving player once or twice with silenced-nagant/ poison fanning to finish off using the Specter. I know this is a totally different loadout but that's the point really: PVP/ PVE utility secondary with silence plus something that gives you the edge one to one for the push. After I'd calmed down I realised I felt like the hunter rather than the hunted for the first time. Thanks man.

My late game loadout for compound fighting is specter bayonet with slugs and the obrez mace, with that you dont need a melee tool and you can take traps, choke bombs, and medkit which is really strong. With this loadout I would bring a stam shot or two, with frag and vit shot.

I agree on this loadout. Especially as someone that mainly runs solo. I've been enjoying the silent veterlli lately as well. I mainly run it with the spifire, for the ammo pool and also a solid close range weapon. I also love to slap FMJ on this for those juicy wallbangs. Well made video, Mike!

Have you noticed, that at the very end of the cycling animation 11:46 there's a few millisecond misalignment between animation and actual rate of fire. You're not even looking down the sights, yet it looks almost like you're shooting with the gun tilted if you try to shoot at max speed. Only relevant for Iron Sharpshooters and the Vetterli and I'd like to see this little detail adjusted

I use this build, but with poison and smoke bolt. This greatly expands the possibilities and range of options that can be applied in the game. In this case, it is imperative to take a large antidote syringe from consumables. And it seems to me that the knife is still better, because armored and inferno are killed with a crossbow (posion/smoke bolt), and dogs can cause quite a few problems if you use knuckles, and in close combat the knife is much more effective and simpler.

Small Crossbow is sadly a leave reason for others in random matching. At all you said, it also solve crows and ducks. I take poison bombs with, they can clean caged animals if thrown in a high bow in the middle. If u dont hit the lantern... Nice ratly is the vetterly tracer ammo, chasing down hunters undetected waiting for them pass a red barrel... rare but easy kills. Also it gives a good feedback in leading shots. Well the high speed ammo works good in the dead eye also the marksman vetterli, to me. I noted that even a single silenced winni tracer shot kills a woody or hive even far above the headshot range. Some couple double crossbow hunters where sunk in the swamp until i enabled a usable scb handling^^ But its worth it.

Vetterli silencer with flame ammo, then take pax or other medium ammo sidearm ALSO with flame ammo so you get a ton of ammo from special ammo crates. It murders in PVE and it is super disorienting in PVP, you shoot people and they panic, the flame effect makes it difficult to determine where the shot come from and it can drop with two shot. Also your pax sidearm with fanning is a nice bonus if you get in trouble. Last part of this winning stealth formula is to play smart by not getting into direct gunfights and to run away a lot. Just be annoying and you will have great success. Most gunfights you get into should involve shooting people in the back while they are fighting other teams.

yeah agreed with the fmj vs high velocity debate.i tried to play the veterli either way it messes up your aim badly.now i use high velocity only on officer carbine.becouse that gun needs it.spitfire is a beast if you play a lot with it.but i like the hipfire spread on precision also for quic pick ups.

I just started the game a few weeks ago and I mainly play solo so I haven't bothered fighting bosses too much but I gotta say I've been using that poison the last couple days and it makes killing bosses so easy, I started playing with my friend and we will usually just throw some poison down and hit the boss with sledgehammers after it passes through the poison and it works wonders

Always use axes over sledgehammers when available. Axes have higher base damage and take a third of your max stamina per hit while sledges take half (i.e. 3 hits with axe and only 2 with sledge to run out of stam). Axes also have a quicker attack animation.

Imo on this loadout HV or FMJ would be a mistake. Using special ammo means giving up on a huge part of the Silencerllis utility value since you cant afford to waste that much ammo. When using a medium ammo sidearm with the same type of special ammo HV/FMJ really shine on the vetterli though.

Well, you see, Pack Mule and Vulture are overall better; especially as your skill progresses. Eventually you will have a surplus of restock both from kills and map drops (RNG I know, but still there is a lot of ammo and health for the most part) Although, yes, Frontiersman is at its most useful as a solo and benefits traps above the other tools. Traps replace teammates and the lack of 2 guns affects the kills and probabilities of hunters to loot mid gunfights for Pack Mule... However, the deciding factor is Stealth and Skill. If you are confident you can drop people to keep Pack Mule...packing (sorry, pun) then you can skip on Fronstierman for a trait that can't be overcome by skill like Doctor, Lighfoot or Poacher. I notice a lot of low stars crutch on Frontiersman and skip on things more critical like Docotor or Kite Skin...Really, having one extra T.Axe is not the same as mobility, map control or increase of the times you can get chest shot. If you argue the case of the extra medkit then you aren't packing enough health syringes for your individual skill cap. They are dirt cheap for a reason.

One of my favorite loadouts is something samewhat simmilar: Label Aperture or Martini Deadeye (when eco) Hand Crossbow (normal+poision) Throwing Axes, Medkit, Deringer, Alert Trip Traps Consumable as preferred. Traits: Determination and Frontiersman is key here as you get a lot of additional Tools. It's fun to play but a bit difficult. I like Axes as they kill normal zombie even when tired. Martini + Derringer is also fun. But Label Aperture is my guilty pleasure. My true love. If only Sacrosanct was not as pretty of a skin for Martini. :P P.S. I'm a Twitch drop leach again! Hre hre hre!

I was just playing this loadout recently and I was often taking high velocity ammo. Makes headshots easier at long range. You have to conserve ammo a bit, but I don't think I ever really ran out. I know that if you get used to leading targets, you might say that MV does not matter that much, but in some situations it can make a big difference. One such situation is when you know that the enemy is behind cover, you correctly guess where exactly they will peek and as soon as they peek out you shoot exactly where their head has popped out, but the bullet is literally so slow that their head is back in cover before it gets there. This actually happened to me several times with the silenced Vetterli until I switched do High velocity. And the recoil is honestly hardly noticeable, I couldn't even tell. And you are easily back on target before cycling the bolt.

Hand crossbow is the most underrated weapon in Hunt. Poison bolts take care of ANY AI and are huge for boss DPS (besides spider) my go to secondary every match.

I've probably got more kills now from the hxbow than any other weapon. Before the buffs I thought it was good, now it's just nasty. It used to be the knife for me, as sometimes I'd miss and get the panic kills with knife. But anymore, I'm pretty sure hxbow has overtaken it. After I kill them and see an upgrade for the hxbow, I want to take it, but the thing is, it beat whatever they had, so it's like... Mhmm. Guess I'll just burn, then.

I have such a hard time choosing the hand crossbow over the silenced nagant with poison- it is worse with dogs and with water devils, which are the main two reasons I bring a poisoned nagant. Its a lot worse vs players than the hand crossbow is though, so thats probably the biggest trade off.

I used to always pick the Silenced Nagant over the Hand Crossbow, but having a weapon that can 1HK to the torso at close range is just too compelling of an argument for me not to take the HK. Being able to shut down a pushing shotgun with one quick body shot from a 1-slot secondary is just priceless.

@@LunoeShadow it is, and within 30 meters range nag dead-eye is better, but as soon as you factor in compact pistol damage drop-off you'll need more than 2 shots to the torso, while windfield still has compact rifle damage drop-off, improved by fmj. Oh and past 70 meters you will hit out of range headshot with nagant dead-eye... yeah that is horrendous

With Poison Bolts, Antidote is almost required! Mithradatist helps, but A, it's expensive, and B, it STILL poisons you for a bit, which can be lethal in a firefight! I mean, you could also just not run through your own clouds, but sometimes against Bosses and Hunters, you don't have a choice. Edit: Also, FMJ is shockingly good for the Silenced Vetterli! The decreased damage drop-off and penetration makes up for the reduced velocity, so long as you're used to it!

When calling this „stealth solo guide“ I‘d assume that the traits should focus on this topic as well. So not seeing e.g. Whispersmith, Poacher, Mythical Dentist and even Poison Sense (at least when using handcrossbow with poison) does not make sense to me. Don‘t get me wrong, great guide as always, the recommended traits are on the top tier list, but regarding the topic of this video these are missing in my opinion :)

@@PsychoghostGaming ok but like with the same penalties that silenced rifle would have, and I mean the only shotgun I really see this working would be the Ramiro and with the suppressor you could increase spread to make it less reliable at range for balancing, idk just rly only had any real success with shot guns in the game and it still ends up getting me killed alot of the time I'd be completely content with having to get a few feet closer to get a kill shot. But I'm also super curious as to why you'd think it'd be unbalanced.
