You don't need makeup in my opinion. Tomato-tone is my go to as well. What I find in my tomato garden that is the biggest worry are chipmunks and crows, both seem to like to taste a little bit of every tomato.

Sauvignon Blanc for the win! I always get into an argument with my sister because she refuses to pronounce it correctly... It's nice to have a recommended tomato routine with demonstrations because they've never worked for me. I'll have to use raised beds from here on so I have more control over bad clay soil conditions.

My soil is straight clay so I use the beds so I don’t have to deal with it so much. You better leave your sister alone...as long as she’s drinking it 😂

Just sipping my sidecar here and noticed that the hogwire arbor behind you, with a little red paint, could make an excellent tomato cage. My tomatoes get 6-8' tall so I have moved to conduit, string and vine clips... functional but definitely lacking aesthetics. Looking forward to updates and if the blossom-rot gets you as bad as it gets me ;)

I never thought of painting it! That may be something I try out if I have time...:) Watch the water if you can (guessing you live in an area that gets a lot of rain?) to cut back on the rot

When you monocrop a single bed it makes fertilizing and maintaining much easier!

I hear you! I usually mix it up though to help cut down on disease- if something hits my tomatoes in this bed then I still have some other tomatoes in another bed kinda thing. A good experiment though!

Yes they love to be planted deep. The salt is a new one for me so I'll give you a tip use. Put kitchen scraps in your hole add 4in of soil then your casting and salt but I would add bone meal. The kitchen scraps will be my time release nutrients. Works for me every time. In fact, when money is I add in eggshells to take place or bone meal.

I used to always use eggshells but I gave up because I had like 10 damn ingredients going in my hole 😂

I know the feeling but the castings cover much of the 10 and other things kills your workload salt, bone meal ect. By the time the kitchen scraps break down far enough to be plant food the tomato will have started to feed heavy even if you prune them because fruit is coming. This is what works for me and I have to be careful because I will end up with more tomatoes than I know what to do with. Therefore, sometimes I grow tomato every other year because I can them.
