HI Dave been going to Thailand for around 15 years now and when I am in Pattaya I stay in the Wong Amat beach area North Pattaya which does have some good beaches! not as good as my Los Angeles Beaches but one day the Thais will understand that good beaches are very good for the economy and the they will put more money into keeping them clean and well managed.. .. next time I will take a run out to Koh Larn to check it out ! we just get so lazy from all the Massages...

I recommend just renting from the hotel you are staying at. If they don't rent they will let you know a good place to rent from.

@@DaveOnArrival We arrived on some old boat powered by a car engine improvised. The fuel was in a can with a pipe leading to the engine. It would not pass modern health & safety! When we arrived at Ko Lan we were the only boat at the beach, and there were no other people and apparently nothing on the Island except for one hut at the beach. At this hut we had a very basic cooked lunch which was part of the excursion. It is amazing to see the difference now. Amazing to think there were probably about 15 of us with a huge white beach to ourselves. And Pattaya itself could be covered on foot quite comprehensively in an evening. Not possible now. A lot of change!
