First timer to your channel! I’m very happy to find you. I like that at the beginning of the video, the people were out of focus. I always want to keep people anonymous in a crowd when I’m filming. Your video helped me with my casual Japanese and learning about kimonos. 👘 Your club is such a good idea. I’d love to always wear kimono 👘. I try to wear my yukata as much as I can during the summer months. As I get to know more about the kimono culture, I’ll spend more money on them. I’m lucky to live here and visit these great shops frequently.

For a work project I'm researching Kimono. Trying to learn as much as possible so I can give a ten minute talk about them. That's why I've come across your channel and now I'm definitely going to buy a Kimono when I next go to Japan. Thanks for showing how to shop for Kimonos and that they are within budget!

Hi Suzy! I just discovered your channel and I can't thank you enough for the information you shared. I own a few Kimonos from second hand stores and wanted to learn more. If possible, can you make a video of your Kimono collection? I would be happy to watch it! Lots of love from the Philippines ❤️👘

Thank you!! Please share to your friend. I just started this channel and very slowly uploading... I recommend you to just visit some Kimono recycle shops and if you find something sparks joy to you, consider to buy. No need full set from the beginning. Just take a look and you will get the idea gradually.

Thank you so much for this video, it's really complete explanation ❤ I really love kimono, but unfortunately, thrift Kimono in the EU is very overpriced. I would love to visit Japan someday with my husband and I want to buy restored/thrift kimono and I will visit your recommended shops (I noted some from your youtube channel, including in this video) 😊 once again, arigatou gozaimasu ❤🙇🏻♀️

Hi! Do you know any good online stores to buy kimonos? Also for the nagajuban do they have a opening? To put the erishin? I recently found a nagajuban but I don’t see an opening for the erishin.
@SuzysDiscoverJapanАй бұрын
I buy second hand Kimono online through Mercari but it would need a Japanese address. I checked online and this shop looks fine with nice price range and variety. www.kimono-yukata-market.com If you do not find any opening to insert Eishin, maybe it has not been placed the Haneri. (Normally it is sold with Haneri already.) Need to sew yourself to put a sheet of Haneri.

is it okay if my friend and I ,as foreigners, wear kimono to see cherry blossom? we're going to Japan this spring and planning on purchasing kimono. We want to experience the wonderful spring. Are there kimono secondhand stores too in Sendai or Aomori?
@SuzysDiscoverJapan8 ай бұрын
Sure!! There is no problem for non-Japanese tourist wear Kimono. If you would like to dress properly like Japanese, I recommend you to go to rental shop and they will dress you and do hair arrangement. You need full set of Kimono including many strings and under garment, so it's too much to purchase everything and it's difficult to dress nicely for the first time. So, I would recommend you to use rental Kimono shop for enjoying wearing Kimono in Japan and to visit Kimono second shop for finding souvenir. As I searched on Google, it looks much easier for tourist to rent a Kimono in Sendai than Aomori. There are recycle Kimono shop all over the Japan. Google it around the area you go. I hope you will have a wonderful trip in Japan!! Enjoy!

@@SuzysDiscoverJapan sorry for the confusion. We're men i dont think wr need hair arrangements. But thanks for the suggestion. Im watching your other videos. Theyre short, simple and easy to understand
@SuzysDiscoverJapan7 ай бұрын
@@wildanwildan3144 Oh, sorry. Even you are two men, it's much easier to rent Kimono and let staff dress you. If you wear yourself, you need to buy Nagajyuban(under garment) and strings, too. How to dress men's Kimono is much easier than women's one. You can check some videos on KZbin. Yukata (cotton Kimono for summer something like you can find it at Japanese ryokan) is not suitable for spring season. So be careful when you purchase. Samui which I introduced in my other video is pretty easy to wear and comfortable. It looks like Kimono. Good luck!!
