Guiding Light 3-30-09 Phillip & Reva

When she mentioned Rap Music, it was a homage to a lot of Rap Artists who used to watch Guiding Light with their Grandmas who were big fans of the show.

Also I just had another thought. Reva mentioned Jeffrey's Job in Washington where alot of Springfield Lawyers were part of. Mike Bauer, Ross Marler, Sid Dickerson. I would have loved for there to be a Storyline where Blake mentioned that her son Jason worked under Sid Dickerson's Tutelage and he explained that Jason's Father Ross was once his Professor. Better yet have Sid Dickerson & Mike Bauer talk about their past with Alan Spaulding.

I think that Reva was in some ways very angry at Phillip with some justification. If he hadn't had his "breakdown" maybe Alan wouldn't have tried to control everything and everyone, and maybe Jonathan would have stayed in Springfield.

I just remembered something else. On Emmerdale Jack Sugden was married to a Lady named Sarah who had Two Sons Robert (Bio) and Andy (who was adopted). He had a daughter with another young lady named debbie and they named their daughter Sarah. She's the only Teen in the village who isn't pregnant and had a baby. Gabby Thomas had a son named Thomas and Cathy has a daughter named Esther.

Was it true that back in the day, Phillip helped Reva out when she fell on hard times including helping her get a job at Cedars as a Nurse's Aide.

What would have been heavier if Phillip had said: "I never got to have a Relationship with Justin & Jackie and that's always been a major regret for me, I don't want to miss out on knowing me.

Wouldn't it have been somehting if Reva had said to Phillip "I'll give you credit where credit is due, you took their Marriage alot better than Joshua did when I married HB back in the day."

Can't remember the job thing, but Reva & Phil DID have a friendship. Did u know it was drunken Phil frustrated over his life (& of course Beth) that came on to Reva at a party & started the ruckus between Jeva that became the reva- in- the- fountain scene? Also Reva/Phil danced crazy wild together when John B played Phil for a short time. Wished Reva/Phil had far more scenes together. GA / KZ acting together in intense scenes could have been SCARY good. Always wanted Beth & Reva to be friends.

rezzy0 I remember that, and he felt awful and apologized to her. Their friendship actually began a few months earlier when she took him in for the night when Mindy lost their baby. She gave him compassion when the Lewis men were nasty to him.

Jeez, the more things change the more they stay the same. Reva was for a hot minute Phillip's Stepmother, they have a Grandchild in common, Daisy was once Phillip's Stepchild, and Phillip still has alot of "Problematic" Issues.

Yeah, shouldn’t Daisy have recognized Phillip? Also, Daisy should be well over the drinking age, but the show sure screwed up that one. For crying out loud, she was born only a few months after Marah and just over three years BEFORE Lizzie,. When she came seeking Harley in 1998: she was a teen, while Lizzie was still just a little girl; yet here, Lizzie has been married, divorced, and has a daughter. 🙄 🤦‍♀️ Lets also not forget RJ, the perpetual child and Leah, the baby who skipped childhood and went straight to teen. Poor RJ, born in late 1998 aged at an abnormally normal rate; while Leah, born in 2004, got to go straight to the teen scene 2 years after birth. It’s abysmal, lazy writing like this and a complete disregard for history that killed this once great show! 😔

With crazy budget constraints and all, I wonder if the actors lacked scripts and directors just told them to have at it. KZ might've just been talking off the cuff most of the time. Who even knows 😅

You know what's so quirky, before Reva did the "I'm The Slut Of Springfield" Baptism, she sang "Proud Mary" and Phillip happily danced. This got Josh very upset and I think deep in my heart Phillip has always had a "Soft Spot" for Reva, because she never walked on eggshells and minced words. Also keep in mind that they know only too well about "Keeping It In The Family". Reva was married to Billy, HB, & Josh, while Harley married him, Alan-Michael, & Gus, and both Alan Michael & Phillip were both married to Blake at one time or another.

laminage Actually, Reva baptized herself in July of 1984 after a drunken Phillip came on to her at Vanessa’s party and Josh verbally attacked her and accused her of cheating on H.B.. The “Proud Mary” number took place in 1985. Josh was already gone to Venezuela and Reva was in love with Kyle. Their friendship actually began in May 1984 when Mindy lost hers and Phillip’s baby. The Lewises were not very kind to Phillip (who was living with Billy and Vanessa at the time) so Reva took him in for the night and was a friend to him. He never forgot it.

@@amyigou7942 Thanks for the information. I only started watching Guiding Light around when Matt & Vanessa met. Now Coronation Street in The UK has now surpassed Guiding Light as the longest running "Televised" Soap Opera. Their Alumni have done very well doing shows broadcasted on US TV most notably Masterpiece Theater/Netflix and HBO. Downton Abbey, Last Tango In Halifax, Happy Valley & Gentleman Jack.

Isn't it sick to know that the "Killer" of Tupac Shakur finally got arrested. I don't think he did it. I do feel that Diddy was instrumental in the murder. He allegedly said that both Biggie & Tupac were bad mouthing each other, they were supposed to meet and talk and if it were discovered he was the "Mole" the mess would hit the fan.
