Chris bernau was a terrific actors

Huge talent. Sadly he passed away too soon. They eventually found a great recast in Ron Raines but Chris was one of a kind and irreplaceable. He was truly an actors actor not just a soap actor. I wouldve love to have seen him move on to prime time and possibly movies. He was the real deal. And despite how wicked Alan could be Chris's performances really endeared the character to me. No matter what mess his bad behavior got him into I was always rooting for him to untangle himself lol. He had to deal with Roger and Diane professionally and privately he was caught between Hope, Jackie, and Diane lol. Through all this Chris still managed to bring some vulnerability to Alan. That was not easy lol. But its the mark of a great actor!

I like that they gave Rita and Eve such a strong and virtuous mother. The actress does a great job as a salt-of-the earth mom who's trying to understand her daughter's self-destructive behavior, and get her to make better decisions. I wish they'd used the character more. The actress later appeared on "Another World" as the Hudson family matriarch.

Yes she should have! She was worked to death lol. Kidnapped, trapped in a fire pregnant, martial crisis you name it and she nailed it all. And she more than held her own in all her scenes with Michael Zaslow ( Roger). Lord knows that wasnt easy. That man was a phenom! God rest his talented soul!
