i think my favourite thing about her is that she doesn't make you feel bad for not being as good as her. As a cosplayer myself i compare myself to others a lot and feel like shit about my cosplays but whenever i watch Svetlana's videos she makes me feel like this is in fact something i could do myself and i just love that. So nice to have a beautiful and supportive cosplayer be so popular

@emilylindstrom7246 жыл бұрын
Sort of.. while nothing in the video is technically wrong, there are easier ways of doing some things to save time, specifically lining the coat, almost all the hand sewing could have been avoided by sewing it on inside out and turning it like she did with the vest. And even with the vest you can avoid nearly all hand sewing if you know how to do it.

Wow! It turned out very good! I partially expected a hard cut to Svetlana crying, desperately trying to barge cement two pieces of fabric together and dremel in some button holes. Also, with a corgi glued to her forearm. I also dread sewing, and as a wood-worker/foam-crafter, sewing terrifies me because it's so vastly different than foam armor.

Also, sewing over pins is totally okay as long as you're careful! I actually learned this at school for seamstresses (English isn't my first language, this would be a degree in Arts or something??) so it's pretty legit ;D And I find it easier to sew this way, especially sleeves or with fabrics that would move easily if you removed a pin.

If anyone needs stripes on a costume, but can’t find a specific fabric with the stripes on it, try bias tape! It comes in a lot of colors and you can just cut and sew them on, thus saving time on folding strips yourself!
