Imagine you're roaming around open world on a low pop map and see a legendary event. You think to yourself, if only there were people here so we could take it down. Then you notice its health rapidly decreasing so you're like "Oh this must be where all the players are!" and you roll over to help out and its just Lord Hizen soloing a legendary. Great stuff man!

I've had a small crowd (3) of people stand and watch me solo. It's a funny feeling and sight. Better yet, one of them even messaged me "That was amazing" once I was done. Sometimes people actually hopping in can really mess up the flow of the fight, though.

VERY clever build. The basics are similar to what most of us were running (either celestail or trailblazer stats with Virtues, Radiance and Balthatzar runes, Whirling Ligth and Purgin Flames... ) but some of the specifics and the use of the Bow of Truth or Signet of Courage or the gameplay in the fights were obscure. I was having troubles remaining alive and I think that now will do better. Thanx a lot for the comprehensive explanations. Seems a very nice OW build, albeit is still a bit mot frail than FB and other professions.

So i copied everything in your build and watched the slomo champion fight on 0.5 speed to copy your rotation but i never got the burning counter over 22. I even changed restorative Virtues to Holy Reconing and Phoenix Protocol to Tyrants momentum. still nothing. Any idea what im doing wrong? :S

sorry for late respond i use F3 from time to time that grant aegis and long duration stability but if u want stun break u can use willbender utility that break stun and leap backward since it has low CD + it has chain skill that land heavy CC

So I have been running this for the past few weeks as my introduction to Guardian, and it has been a blast. Some thoughts/questions: - I have been thinking about trying to get quickness in the build. Celerity seems like a good choice. And looking at the footage, I believe that the version of the build in that footage is also running celerity. I am assuming you dropped strength? - Seems like almost literally any other elite would provide more value. Am I missing something? - Loosing the heal on Resolve hurts a lot. I took Tyrant's momentum instead. Still feels pretty good.

He did mention that the sustain is a big problem ( 5:10 ), even with Celestial's increased defenses. So you will need all, the defensive stats from Celestial, the Healing power to make BoT not suck AND the boon duration from concentration to give seocndary defensives/healing due to boon duration.

I've been split between a carrion and celestial build though I'm too poor to buy both sets and try (damn you siege turtle). What does this have better than carrion aside from the heal-bow? In terms of numbers carrion seems better, but ofc the website doesnt account for all the percentage increase nor can we see crit damage numbers

@@Mightfox Don't know if you got the answer for this. Verdant Brink, you can get bladed gear boxes for 500 airship parts each and they're selectable exotics. You can get head, shoulder, gloves, pants, and boots. As for the body, it can be a guaranteed 100% drop if the night meta in VB was completed. A certain Guild almost always does the night meta on Wednesday nights as their event so you can try to joining them around that time.

No. Focus is betteron pure power. Having the torch out all the time allows you to always use Radiant Fire when it procs.

it can work but in term of survivability no the reason im using celestial is to increase the healing power of spirit bow + to increase the duration of alacrity to recharge the healing skill faster

The big downside of the build I notice, is the lack of stunbreaks to counter trips. E.g. try to do the mushroms in Maguma, if you are hit by a charge and trip, you will be a sitting duck. Firebrands can counter that with the mentra in their elite skill, which breaks stuns. It's just something I noticed in my sort time testing this build.

you can change Whirling Light to Roiling Light if you need stunbreak that also have 2nd skill that CC target with low CD

Same issue with me as well. I tried soloing regular champion bounties in sandswept, and Old Ironhoof and Oakenscorn kicked my ass. Ironhoof has the taunt and knockback and Oakenscorn has the Immobilize while hitting me for 12k.. Thinking about changing Litany of Wrath for Signet of Resolve and Whirling Light to Hallowed Ground, and maybe going with Perfect Inscriptions

You can change what key combinations you want for all your skills in Options / Control Options

I tried this out for a bit today. This build seems to have more dps than celestial firebrand... but I think firebrand is still more useful for solo play. Pulling mobs together, CC, situational skills for more protection or heals as needed... Firebrand has it all without sacrificing anything significant. It's not such a big difference in DPS that I feel like it's worth the trade off in Open World PvE. I think I will be sticking with Firebrand for now.

@@manasmahajan9802 check out Vallun’s celestial firebrand build. It’s a good starting point.. and easily tunable to your liking. Personally I like using Firebrand runes to make quickness uptime easier.

i have been playing cele firebrand for 2 years and i have to disagree on the healing part unlike willbender firebrand dont have alacrity to speed to cooldown on healing skills before i die that what iv been suffer on firebrand good opening damage but it start dropping in time against champions neither cant spam aegis like willbender but when i tried willbender it was so smooth and comfy higher damage faster healing and spam aegis with F3 its perfect

@@MrDJJ113 Use Stat selectable gear like lunatics or bladed. 1 day of farming should give enough airship parts for all pieces except the chest. For that, either be lucky with an active Verdant Brink Night meta (T4 reward) or take the Warlord Chest as an alternative from WvW.

Should run a greatsword for open world instead, the burst, cleave, and utility is unparalleled for solo play on a hybrid build like this.

@@LiveFreeOrDie76 While it's true that the sword auto has higher hits/s than greatsword, gs makes up for it with Whirling Wrath. The amount of hits you can do while cleaving with it is nuts.
