Coming to GW2 from other games, I've been endlessly frustrated by the lack of good build guides. I don't just want to copy someone's endgame build and watch a golem dps rotation, I want to understand the choices, the mechanics, pros and cons and viable alternatives, because that's how you learn and improve at a game. I've watched a few of your guides and they are by far the best I've come across; I genuinely appreciate the extra effort and the depth, and they're very well structured and presented too. It says a lot that I've been watching your guides for classes I'm not necessarily interested in just to learn a bit more about how they work mechanically. Instant sub, and I know some of my guildmates will enjoy your content too.

after 3h of golem, I can safely said, if some people still struggle to reach 30k, you can simplify even more, you don't need shourd 4+3, instead use 4 shroud 2 and fill with auto, at the 4th shroud 2, leave shroud and follow the usual roatation. It bring me between 31-32k dps. It's also easier to maintain dps one certain boss since it fully ranged now, also in action mod the shroud 3 can yeet you easily if your camera isnt all the way down, which is not always a good thing to follow mechanic ! Hope it help, have fun ! Edit : if doing so you can also replace 1 elixir with w/e you want, signet of life and fiend are good for LF, but that also a free slot for epidemic, grasp, walk, etc..

Masel's build here is still capable of pulling 30k dps? Some people in the comments are saying they can only get 9k I hope they are wrong.
@orack6355 Жыл бұрын
@@Eddy_Stylez They are 100% wrong, all his build work fine, I use then in raid and can pull 30k+ on golem. People don't set up golem correctly, mess-up rota, don't use food or right gear dunno, but it work fine and like I said I use an even easiest roatation with no shroud 3-4 cuz I'm lazy and still do 30-32k depending on rng.

quick question, what if instead of nightmare runes we use tormenting runes? the sustain for solo is great, but how much is the dps loss compared to NM runes in group stuff like raids and fractals?
@nicoinformatics2 жыл бұрын
As a complete newbie to GW2 and coming from a mythic raider in WoW who's used to minmaxing the tinyiest button pushes and reviewing performances based on logs and analytics, your guide is the closest thing I've seen so far that provides a much more detailed explanation as to the importance of "why" things are done a certain way and not just the "how" to do it. Your guide is also very short, clear and conscise. Very well done.

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but I do this rotation and by the time I'm in shroud I'm half health or less with a bunch of conditions on me and getting down soon after. Any tips on what might be going wrong?

Thank you for this guide! One question though, why not use scepter as the second main hand weapon instead of double pistol? Especially if taking lingering curse?

The best I can get is 25k dps on the golem. Torment runes instead of nightmare. I can't seem to recharge lifeforce as quick as the video and if I want full lifeforce I am often past the 10 seconds. Any thoughts?

My guess is this build is now out of date. I can't even break 9k DPS.
@luisaguiar42962 жыл бұрын
I see myself having to much trouble with blood is might due to people cleansing the conditions sometimes before i can transfer them so i only use it before i go into shroud.
@MaselMMO2 жыл бұрын
Yeah i also have that problem, the only thing you can do is to try and use it immediately before going into shroud :(
@nicoinformatics2 жыл бұрын
It doesn't matter as long as you keep one use of blight before shroud to transfer. So you don't need to "only" use it whenever you're going into shroud, you just need to have one ready before going into shroud.

I appreciate this question is posted some months after this video was created. However, how viable is this build when only using exotic gear and without a Jade Bot?

Awesome guide. May I know how much boon duration will I need to play a quickness harbinger? Thanks
@MaselMMO2 жыл бұрын
Ty! I say it in the quickness section I think: between 20 and 28% is fine. The quickness build is at 28% and that's definitely enough to maintain it. I did a few raids with it on that build and I had no issues

Whats ur opinion on full ritualist for Open world only? Noob here
@MaselMMO2 жыл бұрын
It's hard to get and the vitality isn't really required on harbinger. It'd make more sense to get some trailblazer gear (chest, amulet and weapons) and see how far that gets you

It's comparable. Not much of a difference imo. Harbinger can supply self-quickness, but less barrier

Wonderful guide, thanks. I don't really see why to take harb over reaps, however.
@MaselMMO2 жыл бұрын
Because you can provide quickness to your group and you can do damage more reliably. Especially quickness is always welcome!
@patlambert22962 жыл бұрын
Yea but being able to purge your allies is better then buffing them with quickness especially when you can take them and invert them to benefit the party I’m with him and keeping my reaper
@MaselMMO2 жыл бұрын
@@patlambert2296 condi cleanse is usually something that healers will focus on though
@nicoinformatics2 жыл бұрын
As a newer player I have quite the opposite opinion honestly. Even if you ignore Quickness, why would you ever take Reaper over Harbinger? I know that Reaper has a much easier rotation and is in general easier to play. But for a newer player it is much harder to maintain a reliable dps with a Reaper than it is with Harb. Get hit once with mechanic in a Reaper's shroud, that's it, it's a dps loss, no matter how you spin it. Maintaining blight to be above the threshold is much easier in comparison.

Why do you use rune of nightmare and not rune of torment

Because it's more damage. Harbinger applies several conditions, not just torment. Torment runes also work though

Looks great! I think you missed smth in the build links though, the DPS build is listed with Parasitic Contagion instead of Lingering Curse, surely that's not the recommended DPS trait in that slot?
