Guild Wars 2 Dead Eye PVP Montage SO MUCH DAMAGE!

Hey guys, This is a preview of the Dead Eye, The new Thief Specialization for Path Of Fire.
I have been testing this build all weekend, and now i am sharing my experiences with you. So far im loving the Dead Eye and the Damage is INSANE!

Deadeye felt quite fun to play, a lot more than I thought it would be considering the intended design but I know I'm going to hate fighting them. If I can't head shot people I don't like pvp xD

This was during the path of fire beta. Therefore the class was very strong. I also decided to in the beta have some fun and mess around with the class playing like a "Sniper". and there are still people who wonder why we want a nerf on the deadeye ^^ you vid shows exactly why deadeye is absolutely op in its form. They nerfed grenadekit for Engineers from a 1500 to a 900 range and they were easy to dodge but how you dodge a 1500 range direct shot attack that nearly instantly take you down? Also remember most of the enemies in PVP were more toughness based equipment or at least high vitality stats but you simply tear them apart on the longest ingame range. reflects are very limited and the only posssible way to defend and attack the same time against an deadeye. whoever thinks closecombat would be a good idea forgot about double dagger and stealth on the 2nd weapon set and abilitys how you deal with that? WvWvW will be a lonely part in the future ;)

Kira Sternenfeuer thief main here. I can tell you there are PLENTY of counters to this class. The build showcased here was the very definition of a "glass cannon". If you can't figure it out, I'm very sorry for you. Yes the dps is high, but all it takes is a semi decent pressure and he will drop pretty fast.

Melvin Rosales The thief has it's niche. Is the class with the quicker kills for a game that already has the lowest ttk in an MMO really what we need. Lower health and Lower ttk makes it a broken gimmick. Stealth just adds salt to injury.

They are balanced, anyone that goes up to them in melee will find that it's an easy fight. DEs have no health. I often find them to be easy as a mirage. Go invis, teleport behind them and shred them with axe 2.

Vincent Nunna Not even a bit overpowered. Easy to counter with blocks, blind, evade, reflects, or just go obstructed. Also deadeye has no mobility, roots itself, and lacks condi cleanse. The steal skills are super bad on DE, vanilla and DD steal skills are a lot better. With even a bit skilled opponents DE is easy to counter. DD d/p is a lot more useful.

Looks like an arcade game, not PVP. Lots of one-sided damage with no one harassing the shooter. No reflects too apparently. Build should work pretty well in lower ranks.

I'm fully convinced that Deadeye's mark was bugged during this demo. In nearly every clip, he's critting his targets despite having the mark on them, when the tooltip clearly states "cannot critically strike". One of these two things can't be true, and looking at how drool-in-a-cup simple this looks right now, I'm guessing it's a bug.

There is no bug, the "mark" being used is traited with "mug" and thus the damage done to the target with the spell called mark is not a critical hit, I checked on the video and every time the spell mark hits the target the damage done is non critical, all the other spells used on a "marked" target can land critical hits and indeed they did crit.

No, I'm referring to his actual weapon attacks that are clearly critting. You can see the visual with the red splash behind the number indicating a crit. Also in WoodenPotatoes' video demonstration of the Deadeye, there are points where he has the combat log open, and you can see on his UI that the mark is active on both his character and his target, yet the combat log is reading "X critically hit for Y" over and over.

mug deals 1.5k damage and heals for 2k "This specific attack cannot critically strike" so you will always hit whatever number it says, and will never crit with it but you can still crit the target with any OTHER attack you hit them with
