For those, who might wonder, why I've put the Nazi swastika decals on my german Guillow's models. I did it, because I wanted to build models of existing aircrafts and the swastika on my models shows nothing else, than the historical truth.

The redacted swastika is pathetic. You are absolutely correct in my view. Presumably some people have tendencies of megalomania at the mere sight of a swastika!

I understand but find it unfortunate that you even feel the need to explain. It's so sad that we have to walk through life on eggshells paranoid about offending one another. With that being said, very cool video and great looking plane.

Hi Veecee27, it was a good idea of you, to watch more than only one of my slideshows! Simply, because building these Guillow`s models, has been a steep learning curve for me and I only kept the better ideas, which worked fine for me. I`m also happy with my modifications of this Guillow`s model and if I should have managed to inspire you to build your own model, then there is nothing more, that I could have wished for. I wish you good success and a lot of joy with building your Ju 87!

Yeah, built one of those when i was ten back in the 80s. barely cut wooden sheets, had to cut it all out myself. But, having it fly was impossible... built it for the rubber band koncept that came with the kit and that was to weak. So i found some odd small co2-engine with copper tubing, but i couldnt get that to work.. fit a propeller etc. So... i ordered a COX...mini-somerhing, but when i got that home it was to big and heavy and even if it would have worked i couldnt have had any way to control it, so it never really flew. Making it radio controlled was impossible since a mere servo back then was heavier than an entire system of today, including batteries.

Hi X Man, thank you very much for your nice comment! I'm lightyears away from being a good model maker, but I've enjoyed building these models and I'm happy with the result. I've created my slide shows to inspire other friends of Guillow's kits to build their own models and from time to time people are writing me, that they're working on their own models. That's always nice to know and actually the best part of my slide shows. I wish you all the very best!

Thank you very much! This guy here gave me the inspiration for my own slideshows. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIfSeqZ6rKZ7itU I wanted to build a few models of existing aircrafts and then try out, if they would fly, but when I finished this Stuka, I didn't want to risk a crash and therefore it never flew. As you have seen already, my models don't fly very well. But I'm happy with how they look.

@@andreasbuttner-land1890 History ,for what I have been able to understand,paint that plane as a flying coffin,granted not as fast as the Spitfires ,and or Mustangs it was a formidable weapon for it's time and when flown by a seasoned pilot as RUDEL it was deadly, Sorry if I mispelled that name wrong, but as I understand he was one of the highest decorated Aces if Germany
@andreasbuttner-land18904 жыл бұрын
@@royalanania3306 Hans-Ulrich Rudel was indeed the most decorated German pilot and since German pilots had no other choice than flying mission after mission, he will be forever the most successful ground-attack pilot. But despite from his success with this airplane, the Stuka was outdated and easy prey for allied fighters. One reason for Rudel's outstanding success might be, that he fought at the eastern front. Rudel was an exceptional pilot, but the Stuka wasn't an exceptional airplane. But the Fw 190 was a truly excellent design and maybe one of the best fighter airplanes of WW II.

This video kicked ass. No music, no annoying voice over, very detailed in showing each step and no "smash that like button and subscribe!" At the end.👍 I have this kit but haven't built it yet. Currently working on the sopwith camel and p-47. I usually do the chalk on tissue method instead of painting and decals because I build mine for rubber band free flight, but have the PBY and B-24 built for display and those are painted. Your plane looks very good, nicely done.👌

@andreasbuttner-land18904 жыл бұрын
Hi Bryan Beard, the lightest option is of course, if you cover your model with already coloured tissue. But if you want to paint it, then acrylic paint might be a better choice, than enamel paints. You could also use thinner, to reduce the weight of the applied paint, but I haven't tried it out yet. I wish you all the best!

Did you use Dope in order to shrink the tissue? What kind of paint for the plane?
@andreasbuttner-land18904 жыл бұрын
Hi Julio Hernandez, I've used a mixture of 190 ml of water and 10 ml of white glue to shrink the tissue. And for coloring the plane, I've used REVELL enamel paints. They work well, if you want to build a model for display, but they add too much weight to the plane, if you want to fly your model. But you could also use acrylic paints. They might be a better choice. I wish you all the best!
