+R Chipp is a lot more durable and combined with his good normals and better damage potential he's not as fragile as you make him. Also guts rating of 4.

The transparency effect is great for making it harder to react to Chipp's mixup. You're still going to know where he is, but you can't react to a move if you can't see it start. Since he's at frame advantage a lot of the time, it's hard to know when it's safe to try to poke out since you wont see the startup of moves that leave gaps. And it's going to be even better in +R because he can stack it twice now. : ) Alpha is good for specific punishes. I think it's airborne on frame 1.

Oh this looks really fun, I just started playing chipp and caught on pretty quick I think! One round I was just doing a corner blockstring and the H teleport when I felt I was too far away, mad pressure when you're feeling panicked

Chipp is one of those characters that really solidified my belief that GGXX is the best fighting game. He actually fights like a fast and agile character, and the Chipp player needs to keep up with his speed even. We don't get any character nearly as "agile" as Chipp in the other game.

I'm having that issue to. I like how certian characters play I just can't decide who will be the first I devote to primarily. I have narrowed it down to a few, but the question for me is who among those few? As for you its very possible not to have a main. That is fine, but still I recommend taking Noriltataki's advice and keep wathing these videos as well.

you can still do it, including the "real" version with jump install that doesn't block the double/triple jump (228 counts as a superjump, so no double/triple after that jump install). you can also go for the land -> instantly teleport for an auto jump install. it's nice to know, but it's not essential enough to put in a 4 minute video. same reason why alpha and gamma aren't mentioned.

I would really love to see a Baiken one of these soon! I'm just getting into Guilty Gear, and I find it to be a lot of fun, but I don't really know how to use Baiken that well. I mean, I know a short combo with her, but it would be cool to know what her important normals are and stuff. Anyway, keep up the good work! I do enjoy these videos.

I ask for a video of elaborations on Chipp's jump installs, please! ._.; I recently talked to Kensou and it was only then that I learned that the 2H -> teleport jump install is done completely different from the wrong thing I was doing. I was doing 2H [8] teleport. That's wrong and won't ever work... ._.;

well im just sayin that its really good for baiting out dp's. jump install i believe its called. but i would figure that would fall into high level play since its a good way to fake out an opponent while pressuring them. *shrugs* but to each their own.

far S is 1F faster in +R. the thing i don't like about both of the moves is that you can't get easy knockdown off of them, but we gotta work with what we have.

most people don't use him because other characters are able to do greater damage. Chip is extremely high risk.

I have a question. Is there even a reason to use "Find Me"? I never figured out what it did and I've been playing this game for years. Also I noticed you didn't cover alpha blade. I love it and I know in the air it has an FRC point very early in it so if you did a super jump into Alpha Blade and FRC you could boost to the other side of the screen if your back was at the wall it would be a wall to wall move...not that would help in many situations.

It's funny because the first Ark Sys game I played was BlazBlue and I immediately took to Mu-12 and Relius.

He's not as easy to win with in terms of playstyles, compared to Millia Rage, who can afford to make more mistakes than Chipp since she takes less damage than him. However, he's still a very good character. The one good thing about Guilty Gear is that no character is truly unplayable. If you want really good Chipp players check out Samitto, Endou, and Chappu. Though many consider Samitto to be the best Chipp player out there.

first of all, the player pool from japanese vids these days is very small, so it's not unusual to always see the same few players. as for chipp's tier list position, he is definitely not weak, but he is very very hard to master. a single mistake can mean a lost round. the only one who comes close to perfect play these days is samitto chipp.

I have watched plenty of high level matches and the thing is they all look good when played that way, as expected. To be honest it just seems like they all play the same to me, pressure, mix up, etc. I've seen the videos and tried the characters, but I just don't like any of them.
