That was a really weird example since uniclr has an even more diverse roster than strive. Combos are also super freeform so two players using the same character will play completely differently.

Yes and no. Xrd has terrible netcode however Guilty Gear XX Accent Core +R for like $5 on steam has a bunch of players because it recently got a fantastic netcode update and some excellent replay features where you can watch a replay of your match against someone else, and then jump in at any point and take control of your character to see how you could have played those few seconds differently. It’s great for learning how to fight against a character you don’t play. You’re right usually it’s two games of a series that are being played but it varies from series to series. I.e. SFV and SF3: third strike (not really sf4); GG strive and GG XX AC+R, , etc.

Guilty gear is actually ripping off the videogame Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze because they both feature penguins at some point. You should be reviewing Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze because the weapons in Guilty Gear: Strive are almost but not as large as the levels in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. Clearly the better and more advanced fighting game.
