Good for you! Only advice I can give, take it one piece at a time. If people start out the gates doing crazy tech and combos, just realize that only thing that really matter are the fundamentals. Build all the crazy tech and stuff after as you see the need for it. Learn a BnB, learn your anti-airs and learn 1 good jump in (which usually leads into your BnB). That's all you need to know to start most fighting games. Anti-air as much as you can to force your opponent to play the ground game. Punish anything with long recovery with your simple bnb. If your opponent doesn't anti-air abuse jump ins and pressure his guard gauge if he does anti-air then try and do it unexpectedly. Other than that, just play people. If you get trapped in training mode hell, know that no matter how many hours you put into training mode mastering crazy combos, they'll mean nothing if you have no means to set up those situations where you can pull them off. I did this with GGXrd Sign, and years later I still can't play a decent neutral. Play the game, learn your character, adapt to how people usually play, THEN add on to that experience with crazy combos and tech and setups and stuff.

@@MaursFar Somehow I think you'll be fine. There looks to be tons of people getting into this game when it comes out, or at least that's what I think. There are new people starting up Xrd just to prepare, so as long as the hype sticks you should have plenty of new blood to practice with who will be equally as bad or worse. I'm hopeful, at least.

@@MaursFar I wouldn't advise it per-say, but it couldn't hurt. The game looks to play at a completely different pace than Xrd, so there's that. That said, a lot of universal mechanics and even some character specific mechanics look similar (looking at Zato and Axl), so if you wanna play either of those 2 maybe it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to check out how the play in Xrd. In general, learning how to RC combos would probably go a long way and very specific things may transfer over, but this game is looking different in a lot of ways so it's hard to tell exactly all the skills that'll transfer over.

But now I have online connection and been playing Dragonball fighterz for a while with my friends so there gonna hop on GG strive as well. So Im deff gonna give Zato a real try and Get That Muscle Memory In!

Zato's infamous move difficulty comes from world no.1 Zato player Ogawa, who had carpel tunnel from playing the character back in the 2000's Super Battle Opera era. He recovered after a surgery and went on to win an SBO within 6 months. His moves aren't hard to execute on their own, but if you are at the level of Ogawa, with his extreme work ethic of practicing every single day from day to night, you might need to rest your hands.

@@andrellnogueira True, but theres even more demonic references than that. The burst is in the form of Buer, a goetic demon. The frog may be a reference to Baal. There may even be more that I forgot or haven't found also. Edit. Looking again, the Buer form is one of Zato's air normals.

Nope. If you wanna play him, go right ahead. Start out learning some easy Bread n Butter combos, and learn what good anti-airs he has. Keep your opponent from jumping all the time with anti-airs to force a more grounded game. Then pressure them with pokes until they either do something unsafe, in which case you try to punish with your easy BnB, or you score a knock down, in which case you can start applying some pressure to their guard gauge/open them up. Once you play more and more people, see what situations work and which don't and lab up some responses to said situations. Just take it one step at a time and slowly incorporate tech and setups into your game play as the need for it arises. Just make sure you are always playing people. I made the mistake of doing training mode for hours and days on end without ever playing people and I regret it deeply now. At the end of the day you can just copy other people's tech once they come out and share it, but you need to have a decent understanding of your character and what you opponent usually does for any of that stuff to matter. Otherwise, you'll know all this tech and all these setups but you'll never put yourself in a position to use them.

He isn't much of a puppet character since controlling eddie's movement is very minor. All you have to focus is summoning eddie at the right moment and with the right move. The rest is muscle memory for execution.

Every time Eddie do a special move when is summoned, Zato whif a move, meaning he still has to negative edge to not whiff move all the time to do special. Another example is Break the Law imput are 214[K] meaning that he cant do Leap (236K) during his invul state amd you can time Leap the first frame he is outside of Break the Law

"Leap" is his S attack. The K attack he can't do during Break The Law is "That's a Lot", the drill wave attack. Functionally it looks similar to his old K move with the saw.

I havent played much GG but I instantly recognised that he can do "Break the Law" to mix up the opponent by staying hidden/Invulnerable and summoning minions at the same time. This... This might be what has me maining him. Every character I saw I kept going "Oooo I wanna main that, or that, or that" All characters have something cool or interresting, but technicality is what beckons me to play Zato.
