"Playing MUGEN with a friend and sharing a keyboard." I felt that deep in my core. I miss the days of spending my time after school to scour the net for cool characters and screen packs and team up with my buddy to fight broken characters.
@GuileWinQuote2 жыл бұрын
MUGEN taught me my fundamentals and execution...which is why I'm still not very good...but I wouldn't change those days for anything. MUGEN really made me appreciate and fall in love with the genre on a deeper level.
@KasuyaIceKarz20002 жыл бұрын
@@GuileWinQuote Lol, same. I was always self conscious about losing when playing games like CVS2 at our after school gaming club. I couldn't even throw a hadouken. I just did meaty jump ins and sweeps. One dude said: "Oh, he's doing Oki setups!" I just smiled like I knew what that meant. Being able to freely try out characters and concepts from a ton of different fighting games at my own pace in MUGEN opened up a ton of doors for me. I started following EVO, reading guides, and practicing characters. I even pre-ordered Blazblue to play with my best friend. (I admit I'm kinda booty still, but man do love me some JJBA Heritage, UMVC3, and KOF. And many more!) Sorry for being long-winded, but I'mma end with telling you that I greatly appreciate your content and I want you to keep up the amazing work! You've taught me about some cool games I would've never heard of.

I wonder if this is more or less stupid than SFIV AE on the 3DS, where you could map four moves to the touchscreen. It allowed for instant specials/supers/ultras and let you bypass charging for charge moves. Apparently Guile was a beast there
@oreore9492 жыл бұрын
Oh, yeah, no, 3D Edition was absolutely insane. That was my first/only way of playing SFIV, and the touchscreen specials actually let you ignore negative edge rules, making Juri essentially always full stock. I didn't even learn she was a negative edge character until years later when I heard people talking about how she was changed for SFV.

I remember figuring out this port existed because it would show up on Smash Custom Music as one of the games you could download the music for. This was also how I was introduced to the guilty gear series. I'm pretty sure I disabled motion controls immediately. I thought it would be awkward using the d-pad for button inputs but it actually came pretty naturally. The Wiimote had a reliable d-pad, I don't remember ever misinputting like with the gamecube or pro-controllers.

0:22 the main issue is player preference, especially which hardware is used, stick or controller. An ideal game would have 2 control schemes perfectly tailored to each input device and let players freely choose which they want to use.
