No internet star wannabe BS, just hard working, highly-skilled guys actually doing the job. Very nice video. I've both liked and subscribed, so please keep up with the great video production.

I love my Kobalt Pole Chainsaw - 80-volt - 5-AH battery - 10" Bar - 6 ft / 8ft foot Pole Chainsaw. No electric cord. I've been using Oregon Bars and Chains. I have been using it for more than 3 years now. It works great on my southeast Louisiana farm clearing property that a hurricane went through and trashed all the trees throughout the woods of our 18-acre farm. I carry it all over in our woods and the battery lasts a long time. Today I'll be cutting a 6-inch limb off of a tree out front. I am also using (2) Kobalt 80 volt 18" Bar Chainsaws and using (2) 5 AH Batteries. Cuts huge logs great. The chainsaw first one wound up in a puddle and stopped working but after a couple of weeks and it had dried out, it started working again. For oil, I like to use Ryobi Bar and chain oil. We have cut 20"+_ logs and works like a charm. And NO more pulling and pulling to start a gas-powered chainsaw. - - - - - - - One 80v 18" chanin saw with 5ah battery snd charger was $400 as of 7/28/2021

I think the cookie cutting at the end was near enough to a draw because the Milwaukee came out of the cut on the upswing and there was more delay on the Husky switching from finishing the down cut to starting the upswing .

Awesome video, I recently did a battery powered top handle saw shootout with 8 “professional” saws on my channel and found myself having similar opinions as you. The power button on the Stihl was very aggravating and seems unnecessary when targeting a professional market! I loved the Milwaukee and own a hatchet myself but never seen one with a 12” bar, super cool! The little Echo saw and Makita really surprised/impressed me as well! Thanks for the content, it was nice seeing these saws used in real world applications against eachother!

In much of this video its not the sound of two saw ripping. It’s two electric blenders going reeeee. The best thing about an electric saw is not having a motor to yell at your crew over. The worst thing is not having a ported saw’s wonderful scream to keep you company.

Nice assortment. I would like to see a comparison with the Echo and Makita top handle saws as well. I'm a fan of the Echo 2500t. $500 for the full kit, and another $150 battery gets you power for the whole day. That new Milwaukee looks like it has plenty of power. Built in scrench is really neat.

I love my 2500t. I used it today while climbing. It's so light compared to my gas top handle and not having to crank it while in the tree is so nice. I have used it for removals but most of my work is for pruning and that's where it really shines.

I have the Makita 10” and 14 inch saws since I’m on the platform, contractor kit, lawnmower etc. The 10” is super light and handy to operate with one hand. It doesn’t have the power to kick back and easily cuts up to 6” branches and logs. The 14” uses two 18v batteries and makes quick work of bucking 13” logs easily matching the homeowner Echo 14” we had on hand. The run time is too short and the charge time is too long but I have 8 5ah batteries so the job got done.

You can also get 40volt 2ah to 8ah for longer run time. I paid 250$ with tax and shipping for the bare tool because I had other 40volt battery tools. I wanted to see you guys would get one and try it out and do a video on it. Also Ryobi and milawakee are owned by the same parent company techtonic industries.

Jake, if your shoulders are hurting you need to do some bodybuilding shoulder work. I know climber don't like the idea of lifting weights, but I can tell you from experience it will help. I'm 42 now, about 10 years ago my shoulders were spent. I did mostly bucket truck work. After I started lifting weights and getting stronger doing work above my head became easier along with everything else in tree removal. Having the ability to work as you age is the greatest ability you can have and being strong helps.

I have the larger Milwaukee 2727 with a 16 inch bar, and it is my go to small chainsaw for clearing brush and cutting smaller trees. I can go for for 6 hours on one 12 Ah battery when clearing brush. Nice to be able to use my other Milwaukee batteries, but it does have a couple of drawbacks. It seems like Milwaukee did not have a chainsaw person in the development of the saw. While the torque is fantastic, the RPMs could be a little faster than the 4000 RPM, and I feel that some torque could have been traded for speed, and the .043 gauge chain is too small for the available torque. I got an .050 bar and chain, and it cuts faster and does not get bogged down as easily since the .050 chain cuts a wider kerf. The bar cover has an odd angle that reverses in the direction of chip flow with an acute angle, so the chips start to build up instead of flowing out. I ground out some of the plastic with a grinder to get better chip flow. An adjustable oiler and an on/off switch with a 10 minute auto off would be nice to have.

Yay! Been wanting to see this. I will more then likely get the Husqvarna 540i. It seems to be the best out of the bunch. The Stihl seems like a dog in the wood. And then the whole button/power turning off in 1 second would really bug me. And to be fair, the comparison at the end wasn't fair. You barely got any wood on the up cut with the Milwaukee, like you did with the Husqvarna. Although the Milwaukee does seem to have more torque the the Husqvarna.
@marcanderson1396
@marcanderson1396 Жыл бұрын
Go back and try to watch the video objectively. Every cut with the Stihl is quick while both Milwaukee saws struggle all the way. Stihl vs Husky is always a debate and they have idiosyncrasies but a dog it is not.
@MrNvanderploeg3

I have tested both. With the same bar and chain through the same piece of 9” maple both saws running 5ah batteries the only thing the Stihl won at was being heavier by close to 2 pounds. The T540ixp was 1 second slower dogged in than my MS200T with the saw bar and chain for reference.

The only things I don't like is the button is the same as the stihl and the batteries get hot and need a rest at about half charge, other than that it's fantastic, it has a chain speed of 24.8 metres a second (81 feet a second).

For me a top handle saw needs good ergonomics and handling. Cutting speed is the second requirement. I think overall the best saw is still the husky. The Milwaukee seems nice too havent tested it yet. The stihl is just too bulky and i dont like the handle for the left hand. Additionally the 1 second button is a dealbreaker for me. For pruning i like the echo too. Super light. The stihl just feels

I have a feeling Milwaukee will quickly be the industry leader in the battery operated chainsaw business. There's a youtube channel, "Project Farm", that will compare different tools. (and other things like oil, etc) When it comes to battery powered tools, Milwaukee is always in the top 2 or 3. Their batteries last longest and provide the most power. They have a major advantage over Stihl and Husqvarna in that they produce and sell so many more batteries, it's significantly cheaper for them because of volume. (not to mention R&D) If someone has already invested in the M18 batteries, it makes it simple and cheap to just add the bare bones saw to their collection.

This is the second video I've seen with the Milwaukee 14-in top handle and neither of the videos did either of you guys run it with the 12.0. I just don't understand why other than maybe weight constraints but still it's a massive difference in power output and run time. Not to mention they're going to have a new 12.0 Forge battery coming out soon it's going to be insane. Because the 6.0 Forge battery they have now with the new supercharger you can charge it and I have seen this first hand with my own that you can charge from dead to full in 16 minutes and some odd seconds.

I happened to come across one of your videos of you using the Husky and I was kinda pissed. Not at you, but me. I needed something bigger than the 20v craftsman that was too small. I went and ended up getting a smaller gas powered Husqvarna. The problem for me, is starting it. I’m disabled and after a few attempts, I’m already hurting. By the time I finally get it started and warmed up, I can barely attempt the work I needed it for. I would have gladly payed for the battery one!! Damn it…. I went with Husqvarna because that’s all I know. That all we used at the saw mill and at my dads place.

In a previous life, I spent a few years pruning and thinning Douglas Fir Plantations, over here in New Zealand. Those squirty zits covered everything over the course of a day's work - - -BUT - - the smell was awesome. Better than any Brut-33.

I picked up a 20" electric saw with the battery in it at Home Depot. That thing felt heavier than my Husky 372xp with a 28" bar! LOL!!!

I got the Milwaukee just being that in the tree industry u use grinders, drills, impacts guns, blower, rachets for the repair and maintenance aspect its nice to have 1battery platform and charging system.. 12.0 battery there's quiet a difference in runtime when you get to the bucking amd for 1200$ you can get 2 tophandles and 4 12.0 batteries

Great comparison. I saw Milwaukee came out with a smaller saw and was wondering how it performed. Im one of those people with a pile of batteries so this is great.

It would have been only a couple years ago when comment sections on videos such as these would have been full with battery naysayers. It's cool to see people becoming more open minded over time.

From the video the stihl battery saw seems to cut better then the others but the safety crap on it kills it. I have the little 18v makita love the controls on it is awesome for pruning big stuff is a no go. It's also a good looking saw I call it my power silky.

@Gordon L yes I do. I have been thinking about getting the 36v one but they also have a 40v. I'm not sure if its avaliable in the u.s yet though.

Imagine...men in the heights, alone with machine and rope, looking out and wishing he could share it with the world. Men of sail at sea with only rope wishing the exact same thing. We see it now. Men of the heights of all time thank you.

Which one has more torque the top handle Milwaukee or the Stihl? Seems by just looking at the video the Stihl cuts faster and has more torque?

Hi Jake. Don't know if the U.S has had much coverage on it, Husky is coming out with a T542ixp. It's the first electric chainsaw that will have a clutch.

I saved on batteries with a Stihl as well, as I have a lawn mower and hedge trimmer that all use the same battery.
Is this $120 Chainsaw Better than Stihl?
