It’s been two years since we got a 15” Bandit “Intimidator”, with a winch, and a Vermeer S925TX mini skid, with a Branch Manager grapple and forks and a bucket. I can not count the times one of us on our (usually) three man crew has said, “game changer” while watching a a whole tree being twitched out of a tight spot and directly into the chipper or an 800 pound log being quickly plucked out the drop zone and loaded up. Hydraulics definitely lift productivity, and the spirits of the crew (by saving our backs;) 🌲🪓⚡️

Awesome trailer for an awesome crew
@tomverhofstadt54576 күн бұрын
as a small tip, you can always unhook the trailer and when you unhook make sure its nose heavy. then you back up the avant and see the "tipping point" so you know where it all sits best. do put some blocks under the back when moving the avant tho so you dont smash your trailer into the ground with a lot of possible problems because of it. all that said do take into account that you dont split the load ofcourse to the back and front in case you drive on rougher roads so your trailer doesn bend over the axels. once you know where it sits best youll soon learn when you load what how its supposed to sit on the traziler without possibility of losing control when driving, nose heavy is one thing but tail heavy now that i think its absolutely terrifying

Why are face cuts when chunking down trees generally much deeper than when felling a tree? Just been wondering.
@EduardoHernandez-kq4fm7 күн бұрын
It tilts the centerpoint to make it easier to fall when your in the tree
@tyt38097 күн бұрын
Changes the center of gravity. Most of the time, it removes the need to push the chunk off.
@JoshuaPeterson-k6r7 күн бұрын
There is no limbs or branches on the sticks and also there is a lot less weight in the chunks so therefore you have to get past the centre of gravity for it to fall easier otherwise you would have to wedge it or push it over
@jasonsayre81027 күн бұрын
Less weight above the chunk. If you don't go deep enough they tip part way and get stuck, then you have to cut off the hinge.
@firedtradesman7 күн бұрын
Undermines the center of gravity so the piece will tip over on its own.

@4.0gpa446 күн бұрын
Around 3:00 you said you can tow that trailer behind your bucket truck as long as you keep it under 10k or something like that. The DOT cares about registered GVWR, not just actual weight. So if it's registered at 14k or 16k, you'd need a CDL to tow it behind a 26k bucket truck, even if the trailer was empty and weighed 4k. If the GVWR was 10k or less, and you didn't overload it, you could put it behind a 26k bucket truck and it would be legally under CDL. If you have a 10k rated pickup or other truck, you can put up to a 16k trailer behind it and you are under CDL. Under CDL is either total combined under 26k or alternatively, no heavier than 26k on the truck with towing an up to 10k rated trailer. I checked with my state DMV and eventually got an email back from probably one of their lawyers, saying that either of those is under CDL and can be done with a regular license. I know that you do however need DOT numbers, with the DOT number put on each vehicle, and a DOT med card for each driver, along with some other rules, for commercially using a truck or truck-trailer combo over 10k GVWR.
