The ginger one wanted to get out at the end of the bath scene. When they do this, you should take them out. I should know! I have five and one hates baths and jumps out. It's so funny, but horrible when he does it!

Hi 1- yes perfectly normal. Guineas get fussy in the water, they don't dislike it, but it isn't natural for them. This is also why they climb on one another. 2- You can always go to the vets to ask how to do it properly. I'd be wary about going to the pet store as they arn't really trained. All guinea's hate it, don't worry. If you give them their fav snack to distract them, and someone else there to hold them still if need be, then it should be fine. hope that helps. x

Guinea pigs can be washed and I know lots of people including myself that wash their piggies. My piggies love the water. It's their favorite time.

@iluvpeanutbutter202 There's a guy that posted a video here on KZbin who doesn't keep his GP in a cage at all. His GP has free reign in his apartment. He keeps a pigloo on a square carpet sample (for padding), food/water, and a litter box in the kitchen where the GP spends most of its time. Whenever he opens the fridge, the GP immediately comes running, climbs into the fridge, grabs its own snack of its choosing, and then goes running back to its pigloo. It's really cute to watch!

@iluvpeanutbutter202 Actually, both of my sister's GPs are litterbox trained. Basically, you show them their mess, scoop it up, put it in the litter box, and then show them their mess in the litter box. Let some of it accumulate in the litter box. They will come to associate the litterbox with its intended function. Always use positive reinforcement with treats, pets, etc. You can find videos of that type of thing right here on KZbin.

i tried giving my pigs a bath, and he nearly cleared the rim of the bathtub. he can JUMP when he wants too. some will stay still, but mine is like a mexican jumping bean. Nice video

@iluvpeanutbutter202 When my sister takes her GPs out of their cage, she takes the litter box out as well. When the GPs need to go, they'll use it. Her house really isn't "guinea pig proofed" so she still has to pay close attention to where her GPs are at and what they're up to. Some people post videos here on KZbin on how to GP proof your house. Couple this with litter box training, and you don't even need to keep your GPs in a cage.

My sister has a "quarter circular" shaped litter box that is designed to fit in the corner of a cage. It is very small. It is important to use something other than bedding in it because the GPs will get confused. My sister uses a newspaper based litter. She tried cat litter at first but her GPs tried to eat it. She says that the GPs will use it about 99% of the time.

These videos are fun to watch and it's amazing to see what each has trained their guinea pigs to do. I especially love "jeannette84xx"'s guinea pig named "Minipan". If Minipan were any cuter it would be illegal! She's very smart, interactive with humans, and knows several tricks.

A standard dry mix to go in their bowls and a treat of fresh vegetables and fruit everyday should keep them happy. Dont bother with any other kind of treats because guinea pigs get most excited for veg/fruit.
