Guinness Guru takes on the 12 Pubs of Christmas

So being Christmas time and all, we decided to investigate what's going on with the tradition of the #12PubsofChristmas. Is it dead? is it still alive?
The 12 Pubs was something that was huge about 4/5 years ago when gangs of lads (and lassies if they were brave enough) would put on Xmas jumpers and go from pub to pub, having a drink in each. Various rules would be put in place which would result in penalty shots if broken. We did our route along Baggot St which is also known as the #BaggotMile.
In summary, it's still happening, but moreso amongst foreigners. People also told us that it has migrated a bit to the Camden St area. The bars at the top of Baggot St like it because that's where the groups start; as you go down Baggot St when things get more rowdy, they might not even serve you!
There are a number of different combinations and bars you can go to but here was our route:

Pub 2. The Waterloo
Pub 3. The Wellington (closed)
Pub 4. Smyths (Haddington Rd)
Pub 5. The Fifty One (Haddington Rd)
*Pit stop in Burger King*
Pub 6. Toner's
Pub 7. Doheny & Nesbitt
Pub 8. Reilly's (didn't let us film)
Pub 8/9. Foley's
Pub 9/10. O'Donohue's (didn't let us film)
Pub 10/11/12. Napper Tandy's

Man you’d fit in right here in Hamilton, Ontario where I’m from. Just watched your Guinness and Smirnoff ice video and you remind me of myself and my homie mixing whatever we can find with 40s of Olde E. I was lucky enough to be a part of a group of fellas that had their own 12 bars tradition too. 2 different routes, 1 for spring and 1 for fall. Cant wait for lockdowns to end and we can get back to whats important. Carry on 👍

Poor auld Kav's, no Guinness poured there in oh so long. Best pint of Guinness bar none over the years. I remember Keirons dad Eugene well, loved to run marathons.

We do an unofficial Christmas crawl where I live in England, but as we went on by pub 6 we had about 30 lads total that had joined in. Problem was we couldn't get served rest of the night, and because I organised it I'm actually still banned from many pubs. Yoi should have thought 30 pints being drunk in about 15 minutes and then leaving would be appreciated but i guess their reputation is better than getting a quick cash injection
