@albertwang597411 ай бұрын
It's actually pretty straightforward: 1, make a GPS ground station to provide an accuracy coordinates 2, make the drone to communicate with the GPS ground station, so, the drone know it's own position 3, for an interval of time(like one second), send singnal to every drone for the new location. 4, before the show, you can rehearsal the show on a computer with a vritual coordinates That's it! The most important part in these drone show system is: the accuracy coordinates provider!
@wayne500011 ай бұрын
Let me go further: 1. If GPS transmitters are on the ground, how many? Different frequencies bands than the satellites? Otherwise you'd be jamming GPS systems to the general public. 2. I'm guessing the drones are using mesh communication? Does each drone have individual awareness of its relative position to each other as well? How much intelligence or edge technology is on the drone vs centralized control from the ground. Is the drone set up with the "dance" program before launch or is its assignment being transmitted every millisecond? 3. How does the development process of the dynamic imagery work? One way to do imagery is to simply keep the drones in a cubic array where they act as 3d pixels. You could light up the pixels as needed for the image. Yet these pixels are also moving in formation relative to each other. That software process is significant to prevent collision. 4. What are the minimum weather conditions. Wind aloft? Temperature? I assume no precipitation? 5. FAA special use permits? FCC special use permits?

Basically a 3-dimensional scene is converter into an array of three dimensional coordinates, one for every available drone. And then between scene transitions each drone flies between their own pre-programmed locations, loaded as a individual flight plan in its controller hardware. To make sure the drones don't drift, the operators set up a groundbased transmitter system called RTK (real time kinematic) that uses a GPS-system to pinpoint the locations of each drone up to a few centimeters in precision from a basestation. This is then transmitted and each drone uses this data to correct deviations. Doing all this requires custom software that efficiently converts a scene into hundreds of individual flightplans (and some are more fancy allowing for elaborate animated scenes) and hardware modifications to skeletonize the terminals of an existing RTK system on the market, integrating them with the drone frames and sent its input into a drone's flight controller to be interpreted as corrections. Both steps are custom , proprietary solutions, which is why there are only a handful of drone show operators in the world to handful (for now). That and it costs quite a bit of money to buy and convert this many drones.

@@shoelacedonkey Yeah nah. Fireworks always have and always will be king. Flying LEDs are sterile-looking shows, just like Coldplay concerts and that big Sphere in Las Vegas. Nothing can replace or outclass fireworks explosions, especially the massive ones. Even hobbyist fireworks shows are so much more exciting than this video.
@Ocktay11 ай бұрын
@@shoelacedonkey Of course they are not the same, already because i imagine it is less complicated and less expensive to use "for professionals and especially the general public" and you forget a detail THE EXPLOSION and the noise it makes, the flickers, the smell or even the fall, it's drastically different than drones flying in the sky even if it remains magnificent but in its own way.

Absolutely, spectacularly beautiful and magnificent!!! The Nutcracker is my very favorite. I have been going to see it most years for 57 years. However I couldn’t attend this year or last year, (I was in the hospital last year) as I have been too sick, fighting for my life. You put a huge smile on my heart with this amazing display. I just loved it!!! Thank you soooo much!!! Congratulations!! You deserve any and all rewards!!

Amazing! What’s also amazing is that like going to a concert half to most of those in attendance will miss the true magic and visuals of all the time and effort put into this because they choose to view it through a 7” phone screen. Put your phones down and enjoy the experience!

Extraction of raw materials, preparation of materials, production of 1500 drones, production of 1500 batteries and later recycling it all, not as ecological as it might seem. Even this soon becomes boring when the initial enthusiasm wears off.

Not only did they have the display in the air, but had several other drones flying and recording what we, the public got to see in their "birds eye" view!!! What I like about it is that it's quiet, so those who prefer not to partake aren't forced to. Looking at you, fireworks! with your loud expulsions that trigger combat vets and terrify animals for miles. I imagine there is also far less potential for litter, fire and catastrophic accidents.
