For beginners who want to buy their first guitar, here are some tips- There are mainly 2 types of acoustic guitars: Classical and Steel String. Classical guitars are very sweet sounding guitars that have nylon strings. It's great if you want to play genres like Classical, Spanish, Flamenco etc. These guitars do not have a truss rod, so you must be careful about the neck bending. They also have a wider neck, so your fretting hand might need to stretch more. But because of the nylon strings your fingertips might not hurt as much. Steel string guitars are what's shown in this video. They come in a variety of shapes, but that doesn't matter much. If you carry your guitar around a lot, get a smaller one (I recommend Orchestra). Some tips when you buy the guitar: Check the saddle of the guitar, is it properly joined to the top of the guitar? There should be no gap at all. Check the neck of the guitar. Does it have a tiny healthy curve? If you're confused, take a guitarist friend along. Check the action (string height) of the guitar. Is it comfortable to play across all frets? Check the intonation of the guitar. (You can google all these things) Check for buzzing. Play a few notes, if possible on every fret. Check for damage on the wood of the guitar and cracks near the head of the guitar. Some steel string guitars come with solid wood top. These guitars need special care to prevent damage from humidity and moisture.

I am Playing guitar from last 18years & I never keep my guitar strings loose when stored or kept aside, this is pure half knowledge, you can loosen your strings while travelling when guitar is not in your hand while traveling.

The suggestions is almost spot on. Loosing strings is absolutely necessary only in high humidity situation, irrespective of if the guitar is solidtop or full solid or laminate. As due to high mositure and string tension, belly bulge and neck issues arise. Specially in asian countries like india. This doesn't apply where its low humidity or moderate humidity. If a person maintains proper humidity which is costly and a headace then leaving on string tension even while not playing won't create issue for months. Though not advisable.

I personally think don't loose guitar strings if you play every day. It couse strings break.

@@rvvishalz you cannot insult someone just because you feel that it's not right..! Even akshay sir says that if you don't play regularly, you can loosen your strings and then pack your guitar.. So that the tension force created by strings do not bend the neck of the guitar.. Its not necessary to loosen up the strings if you play regularly. Even i play regularly and do not loose the strings and my guitar is perfectly fine..! 😊
@maitreyeepandey30592 жыл бұрын
Bro you're absolutely right cause 1 year ago I bought my guitar and I used to loosen the strings everytime after playing it. My high E string snapped 2 times due to that. So I recommend that if you play the guitar everyday don't loosen the strings. You can loose the strings if you're leaving the guitar unplayed for a long time. I play my guitar everyday without loosening the strings and it is completely fine.

I agree...if you play daily, you don't need to de-tune it every single time after playing. I used to do the same mistake, my strings would break in 2-3.months or sometimes in few weeks !! (Specifically the G or the high E string) Then a friend and a fellow guitarist corrected me here and said I should never detune it it very frequently, it causes stress to the strings as well as the fretboard in long term. I have read articles on quora and other blogs. They all have the same opinion. Now its been almost 8 months I haven't loosened my strings ever and its still in perfect tune and plays great. But if you know you are going out for a few weeks, make sure to tune it down one step or less.

Don't loose guitar strings after playing....it can damage your guitar neck due temprature, humidity etc.. i am a intermediate guitarist and I know it! A guitar is made in such a way that it comfortably holds the strings pressure and it's necessary also! If u are using a 3-4 thousand guitar then the guitar will obviously bend irrespective of string tension!

Lot of misleading facts in this video. The inches mentioned is actually the distance between the saddle and the nut of the guitar. Also the different sizes depends on what kind of sound you expect from the guitar. For example: if you're a singer/songwriter and need a punchy guitar sound that is bass heavy, go for a dreadnought. Or else if you're a fingerstyle guitarist you might like the Orchestra shape more. Also there's no written rule that you have to change your strings every 3-4 months. Depends on the condition of the strings. If they're rusty, dirty, and if the tone is dull, then change the strings. Some string brands last much longer than the others. There's no need to detune your guitar all the time. Do it only if you're going to not play the guitar for a long time. Expected a lot more from this video, but it hasn't even covered the basics of getting a beginner guitar.

Akshay bhaiya, main Indore me rehta hu and yaha bahot hi kam musical instruments ki shops hain and unpe bhi beyhad kam variety and brands hain. Maine 2 3 shops try kari sabpe mostly local brand guitar hi hain, juared aur intern tak nahi hai. Apka ye saga wala video dekh ke to main bahot happy feel kar raha hu and immediately online purchase karna chahta hu. Meri samasya ye hai, ke mujhe samajh hi nahi aa raha ke main left handed guitar lu ya right handed. Sirf ye doubt figure out karne k liye, maine ek shop par jake dekha bhi, phir bhi mujhe utne confidence se samajh nahi aaya. Usne mujhe 39 size ka guitar diya tha. Aap please mujhe kuch direction dijiye samjhane me, help kijiye. Main school me conga drum bajata tha to base right hand side pe rakhta tha, dholak me bhi base right side, left hand ki fingers se tirkit type ki movement bade easily bahot der tak kar sakta hu, but ye samajh nahi aa raha ki fingers ki ye flexibility and speed, strings pe finger movement k liye beneficial hai ya neck pe. "Thank you" will be very small word for your guidance.

If you give a practice for 4-5 hrs a day then,Can change your strings monthly. Its up to you.. You can see and feel that your strings don't sound that good as it used to sound before and the bronze coating fades near the sound hole or where you press the strings to play chords.. Hope it would help you 💓

Never detune your guitar. It's wrong and unscientific. Because truss rod always pull it oposite direction and on the other hand strings when it's in tuned always ballence the pressure. Otherwise your fretboard will bend. Be awar. I have 3 guitars and I never detuned them from 16-17 years. And they are all in very good situation. You can see Adit Guitar lesson also. He tells the right thing...👍
