Guitar Hero Metallica : Orion Expert Guitar 100% (11/48)

This song is so good it makes baby jesus cry.
I'm a little dubious about some of their charting decisions (particularly a solo in the middle where the guitar line is just playing the rythym chords, and right at the beginning where they charted the less complex of the two guitar lines), but still - not the best chart ever, but the song MORE than makes up for it.

The "more complicated guitar solos" are actually bass solos. A lot of ppl mistake them for guitar solos but this song actually emphasizes more on bass and on Cliff's epic ability as a bassist. Not as good as Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth) but still an epic piece by Cliff

The chart is easily explained by the Album booklet. James Played the Second Solo, and Cliff played the Fourth Solo. That's why Kirk was playing harmonic on the second solo.

The middle solo is actually a bass solo as you've no doubt been told, but when you mentioned the other part, did you mean the riff at 1:47, where there's the lower chords which you play, then the higher notes? The higher notes are also bass. :P

The people saying there are missing solos or the chart follows a "simpler" line simply don't know this song very well. The solo in the mid-end of the song where the guitar is only playing chords is correct, because that solo is played on bass by Cliff Burton. Same as in the beginning where the "simpler of two lines" is charted, that's because it's bass. Go play bass and see for yourself

he was the second Metallica bass player. Ron McGovney was the first, but when they found Cliff, they kicked Ron out lol (all happened before Kill Em All went out). H was the king of metal musicians. Did you know he used helped the other metallicats with their guitar skills by playing classical music on electric guitars (it's in "The Frayed Ends of Metal" - metallica's biography! read it!)
