I say Rock Band 2 has harder solos based on how overcharted it is, but GH Metallica has a harder breakdown part, and the rest is even, so they're about the same difficulty.

Here's how it goes for difficulty. RB2 is harder to complete but GHM is harder to get a good score on. This is because the RB2 engine punishes you more for a missed note than in GHWT. It takes around 5-10 hits to make up for one miss in RB whereas it takes one hit to make up one miss in GHM as well as the popular hit detection the size of Jupiter. And so the RB2 version is harder to complete while GHM has a harder track and is harder to get a good percentage.

Let me provide an example here. Everybody sets their drum kits up in different ways, or may play them differently by song. Rock Band's drum chart of this song has hi-hat charted to green, the furthest right drum. The song is also played like that-- With the hi-hat to the right of the set. It may lead to awkward transitions sometimes, but it's better than a song with constantly awkward sticking, I think. And I will never get used to flams sharing notation with accented notes. Ugh.

Yes! I may have exagerated by a note, but the WT engine doesn't punish you as badly as the RB2 engine. I once proved this to myself by beating Overkill on Hard Drums without touching the bass pedal once.

I don't mean the song going 2x slower, I mean the notes scrolling 2x slower, which makes it look like they are closer to each other, as they're scrolling down.

Candy is so right about that. After playing GH for a years, i was a pro at it, everybody told me to try real guitar so i said ok. After 2 weeks of practice, i realised that i totally sucked. so i stoped real guitar and kept playing GH!!

That part isn't over charted, it's really similar to the way it's actually played. The green notes are hard to hear, but they actually should be there :)

That's just what I'm saying - without the "Breakneck Speed" modifier, the notes in RB2 would go 2x slower, just like it normally does.

What are you talking about? The notes are scrolling at the same speed. And if you've every played rock band, or at least watched an another video of it, you would see - that the notes are 2x slower than they are shown to scroll here, due to the fact that Gurra100 enabled the "Breakneck Speed" modifier, which makes the notes scroll 2x faster And he enabled it, to make the notes scroll at the same speed, for better comparison, at least that's what I think.

The GH chart looks a tougher but more fun to play. I never really liked the awkward RB2 chord hammer-ons in the intro :P

I honestly think people shouldn't judge which is more realistic because both are way too far from playing real guitar. As for the charts, both look fine to me. I think RB is more undercharted with some chords. GHM isnt overcharted, but i think over do some note spreads. And I was really dissapointed they didn't add an open strum for guitar since GHWT. It would have made GHM's charts much better because they use open E so much

keep in mind that the guitar hero is made for METALLICA by METALLICA. Rock band 2 isnt made for a specific band. I do however think that the guitar hero one is over charted

Its only harder because in Rock Band the timing is INSANELY precise. That and Rock Band undercharts everything anyway.

Aye that's a good point. But, GH is very limited what it can do with its drumset. Doing full set rolls with 3 pads is kind of funny. Seeing as stuff like Dream Theater (Which is in both RB and GH) can have rolls of upwards of 25 drum heads. That and the fact that the pads on Rock band can act as multiple things and make stuff like everlong much more fluid and natural.

because they showcased more like on competitions and stuff on t.v. and they have songs that people like to listen to. guitar hero has songs that are hard to play and people want a challenge...

The guitar hero CHART might be harder. However i would say the song, particularly the solo (which is whats important cuz i can easily fc the riffs in both) is still more difficult in Rock Band because you need to be more precise to hit the notes. But i dun really care both games are really fun, and its stupid to argue over which one is better (critics say rock band btw)

Yes. And Rock Band does not underchart everything. Have you played Operation Ground and Pound? That chart is harder than everything that has ever been put into Guitar Hero (officially) including The Devil Went Down to Georgia.

GH one is mroe realistic meaning that it is closer to playing a real gutiar. My friend was WOW when he was playing battery on GH because he was playing it much on a real gutiar. He meant it was almost like playing on a real guitar.

Sorry. Wrong Answer. Just because they worked with Metallica doesn't mean they got help from them with the charting, one example being the unnecessary quad-chord at the end of Master of Puppets. For the most part, Rock Band 2 (once again) charts better.

Rock Band is better because you've actually got to hit the hammer ons and pull off's at the exact time, while on GH you don't really need to be that accurate with it.

GH's charting is incredibly limited by the way the drums were made. Yes, you have five buttons, but each one has a very specific function. I saw Enter Sandman's drum chart. It was seriously the worst thing I've ever seen. Honestly, even though the cymbals are there, they only provide a cosmetic feeling of realism. Rock Band is able to chart in such a way that you're always going through the right motions.

rock band 2 definiatly have more realistic charted notes, but neversoft isnt so far, actually its very good compared to terribly unrealistic charts of guitar hero 3.. my point is that it is good thing that neversoft has learned from its mistakes, altough it still overcharts some songs

If people call it Guitar Hero 4, then they do mean Guitar Hero: World Tour unless reality shifts and there really is a GH4. No, past that GHM is still more accurate. The chords are wrong in the main riff in RB2, and there are chords that aren't chords in RB2, the solo i undercharted in RB2...

En dehors des solos et de l'intro y'a autants de notes dans les deux, c'est just pas les memes accords. Sinon quand je joue le solo sur RB je sens vraiment que ya des trucs derriere que on joue pas, 3:30 est un bon exemple. Je prefere avoir un bon challenge et une partition un peu surfaite que une realiste (et encore celle de rock band a beaucoup d'erreur!) et moins cool a jouer.
