One of the best things about the ending of this song, is Jeff's repeating of F-G-A-A, while the guitars are doing they funky goodness - keeps the ending tight and solid!

Ryan, can you please do a cover of Jeremy and use your SG bass, dark red Telecaster, black Telecaster with Gibson burstbucker pickups, SG special from Gibson, acoustic guitars, Les Paul and Jimi Hendrix Strat? I want the dark red Telecaster’s guitar riff to be shimmery and harmonize with the bass.

The song that saved my suicidal self from depression all those years ago. Introduced me to Pearl Jam and, through them, Soundgarden. Then followed Alice in Chains, Temple of the Dog, Mad Season etc. This song was the reason I picked up a passion for music. In many ways, Jeremy made me the person I am today. No piece of music means more to me than this song. I have never attempted to learn it and I do not intend to, I simply have too much respect for it. I can still appreciate the great work you've put into deciphering everything and making this great lesson though, you've done a really good job on this 👌🙌

Hey Ryan, I know this is an old video, but it's been my long time belief that them harmonical shenanigans are on Jeff's very same 12 string bass. That's how epic that thing is in that guy's hands.
@RyanLendt2 жыл бұрын
totally agree on ten - one issue is that his finger doesn't leave the D string (or strings - in his triple bass case) while that last note of the riff rings out, so those harmonics have to be an overdub with the very same bass. Which is why when played live the guitars take care of the harmonics. Watch the first five seconds of unplugged and ye shall see mike do it :)

Hey I have always wanted to tell someone this: you know Jeff ament's outro bass part, the one at the end of the song, well I always felt the that it was like the second hand on a clock being affected , changing its constant pace, as Jeremy's life was running out. And the last two notes were the 1 and two( lub dub) of a single heartbeat. I think they are the ventricles. I forgot. Definitely the left ventricle , but the other may be an atrium. Anyway , I always felt that sadness and felt that is what it was. And just before that, as Eddie sings the whoa part primally, as the narrator, knowing j will pass and he can do nothing.
