Honestly, I don't think I've ever commented on a guitar tutorial video before or at least not a long one, but I just have to make an exception with this one. I came across this channel because I was searching for how to play Where did you sleep last night in the style of Lead Belly and I was a bit nervous cause it sounded so hard but I was blown away by your teaching skills. I learnt how to play it under an hour and now I've perfected it barely a day later and I was like 'am I really the one playing this right now?'. I just wanna thank you and I hope your channel becomes more popular. I do wish I found your videos back when I started learning how to play guitar. Keep up the good work, I'll continue to support this channel the best way I can. Lots of love and I'll be sure to check out more of your vids.😍😘

His performance of this was a defining moment. Just perfect in every way, one of the musical highlights of the 90's. Kurt knew it too as he refused to do an encore after it (or so the story goes). Great job sir.

great lesson thanks. On Nirvana unplugged Kurt uses a picking pattern a fair bit of the time rather than strumming. Is ths just random picking ?

yep, just random :) Kurt had a very signature way of doing his random strumming i haven't quite deciphered yet.

Really is , it even has a darker/creepier vibe. I like Nirvana but if their unplugged cover didn’t have Kurt’s famous vocal performance it would be dull.
@ledavalon71183 жыл бұрын
The Leadbelly version is creepy and haunting, the nirvana version is a lot more powerful. Both versions fucken rock and give me goosebumps. The cover was done out of appreciation of the original, they weren't covering a 40's blues song cause it was trendy. No need to compare

in the time it took me to learn how to play the intro, I dropped three---wait, four, different guitar picks into the hole of my acoustic and I can't get them out. And of course, I'm trying to solve the mystery case of the rest of my missing guitar picks! Literally just disappeared. Had them on my desk one day, the next day, boom! Gone. I literally tore my entire bedroom apart looking. UGHHHHHH! I just bought a TON with my new acoustic at the end of June! Not one is in sight! Frustrating.
@RyanLendt4 жыл бұрын
the trick to getting your picks out of your guitar, Ms. Wiley, is steeped in ancient tradition. You must simply turn your guitar upside down above your head with the full belief and confidence that a pick will emerge. Try it. It works every time :) (this trick also works with keys that won't quite turn in a lock)
